Roles overview
Super Admin | Multi-agency executive |
Admin | Agency manager |
Conductor / Site supervisor | Site manager |
Manager | Team leader |
Worker (User) | Field employee |
⚠️ General rule
The higher the level, the broader the access. A user can never modify an account of equal or higher level than their own.
Super Administrator
Profile: Executive or IT manager in a multi-agency structure.
✅ What you can do
Access all agencies from a centralized view
Manage all users, projects, schedules and settings
Approve absences and timesheets
💡 Please note
Without multi-agency configuration, the Super Admin role is equivalent to Admin. It does not provide any additional rights in that case.
Admin
Profile: Agency manager, works director, HR accountant.
✅ What you can do
View and manage all projects in the agency
Create, modify or deactivate users (of a lower level than yours)
Edit any member's schedule
Approve absences and timesheets
Access the application settings
❌ What you cannot do
Modify an Admin or Super Admin account
Works Conductor / Site Supervisor
Profile: Manager of multiple construction sites, works conductor.
⚠️ These two roles are specific to Klear and correspond to the same range of rights (level 3).
✅ What you can do
Access only the projects assigned to you
Create new projects
Manage the schedule of members on your sites
Approve the timesheets of members in your projects
❌ What you cannot do
Approve absences (reserved for level 2 and above)
Manage users (creation, modification)
Access application settings
Manager
Profile: Team leader, responsible for a group of employees.
✅ What you can do
Access your projects + view your subordinates' projects (with a lock — supervision without access to details)
Create new projects
Manage your subordinates' schedules
Approve your team's timesheets and absences
Clock hours in bulk for your entire team from mobile
❌ What you cannot do
Create or modify user accounts
Access projects or teams outside your scope
Worker
Profile: Field employee, technician, operator.
✅ What you can do
View your assigned projects
View your schedule (read only)
Enter your own timesheets (if the setting is enabled by the Admin)
Declare your absences (if the setting is enabled by the Admin)
❌ What you cannot do
Approve anything
Create or modify projects
Access other users' data
Special case: worker without a license
A worker may not have a Klear license if a Manager clocks their hours on their behalf. In that case, they can still be scheduled in the application but do not have access to the app.
Global role vs project role
This is one of the important subtleties of Klear.
A user can have two distinct levels of access:
Type | Description |
Global role | Defines general rights within the application |
Project role | Defines rights on a specific project |
Concrete example
A Worker (level 1) can be designated Site Supervisor on a specific project.
In that case, they will be able to approve the hours of members on that project, even if their global role does not allow it.
These two roles are completely independent of each other.
