🔍 What Are Remarks?
Remarks are predefined notes that staff can attach to an item or an entire order.
They help communicate special instructions to the kitchen or bar—without cluttering the product catalog.
🧠 Examples:
“Allergy: No dairy”
“Split the dish”
“Number of glass”
🧩 Remark Types
✅ Linked Remarks
Remarks connected directly to a product during ordering.
✅ Standalone Remarks
Remarks that can be added directly to the cart, not tied to any product.
🎛️ Where Do Remarks Appear in the POS?
Remarks can appear in the POS:
In the top or bottom cart area, depending on your Layout Configuration (Revenue Center)
In the Additional Functions menu during ordering
This gives flexibility in how staff can quickly access and use remarks.
🧩Organizing Remarks with Groups in the POS
You create Remark Groups to organize your Remarks into categories.
Each tab at the top (like No, Add, Misc) is a Remark Group, and the buttons inside are the individual Remarks.
✍️ How to Create a Remark Group
Go to the Remark Groups section in the Back Office.
Click the orange New Remark Group button.
Fill in:
Enter a name for the group.
Assign one or more printer groups to define where the remarks are printed (e.g., kitchen, bar).
Select remarks from the list on the left and slide them to the right to include them in the group.
Click Save
🎯 Use groups like “Allergies,” “Service Notes,” or “No option” to stay organized.
✍️ How to Create a Remark
Go to the Remarks section in the Back Office.
Click the orange New Remark button.
Enter:
Name: What appears in the POS
Internal Note: Helps you search when creating remark groups
Price: If there’s an extra charge (optional)
Assign it to one or more Remark Groups
Click Save
🧠 You can edit or delete remarks the same way you do for products and modifiers—click the line to open, or use the ••• menu.
✅ Best Practices
✅ Use remarks for special instructions that don’t need their own menu item
✅ Group remarks logically (e.g., by kitchen station or use case)
✅ Test layout visibility after assigning new remark groups
✅ Keep remark text short and action-oriented for kitchen clarity
