🔍 What Are Modifiers?

Modifiers are add-ons or options customers can select when ordering a product.
They allow staff to customize the order without needing separate menu items.

🧠 Example:
For a “Burger” product, you could offer:

Add cheese (+$1)
No onions
Extra bacon (+$2)

🧩 Modifier Types

✅ Single Modifiers

These are standalone options added directly to a product or variant.

✅ Modifier Groups

These are organized sets of modifiers with the possibility of selection rules (e.g., "Choose up to 3").

Example:

Group Name: “Burger Toppings”
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Bacon (+$2)
- Avocado (+$3)

✍️ How to Create a Modifier

Go to the Modifiers section in the left-hand menu.
Make sure you’re in the Modifiers tab (not Modifier Groups).
Click the orange Create New Modifier button.

4. Fill in:

Name: How it appears in the POS
Description (optional)
Internal Note: Helps you search modifiers later (e.g., “Burger Toppings” or “Pasta Options”)

Set if the item is taxable
Disable quantity if not applicable

Price (if applicable)

🔍 Tip: Use clear internal notes like "Sauce choices" or "Side options"—this helps you stay organized when you have many modifiers.

📦 How to Create a Modifier Group

Once your single modifiers are created:

Switch to the Modifier Groups tab.
Click New Modifier Group.

Fill in:
- Internal Name: For Back Office use
- Display Name: What staff sees in the POS
- Min/Max selections (optional)
Search and assign modifiers using the internal notes or the name of modifiers
Click Save
