If your participants are virtual, we've got the perfect solution for you.

Two things will be essential for success:

  • Communication between participants, parents, and you.

  • When you roster participants include parents so they get invited to create their own Marathon Kids account so they can follow their child's progress and submit miles to you from home.

Typical Actions of a Virtual Coach

Who will participate?

  • There are three ways to add your participants. All three ways have an option to include parents.

    • Recruitment Tool - allows you to customize an online registration form to invite participants to join!

    • Adding in Bulk - this is great if you have a large number of participants and you already know who they are.

    • Manual Add Participants - this is helpful for a small number of participants or if you get a new participant during your season

Parent Accounts and Submitting Miles from Home

If you include a parent's name and email when you add participants this invites the parent to create a parent account in order to follow their child's progress and submit miles/minutes through the platform for you to approve.

  • When uploading a roster or manually adding your participants if you include parent information the parent email invitation is automatically sent from your Marathon Kids account.

  • If you use the recruitment tool it automatically gives parents the opportunity to create their parent account after they enroll their child.

Check the Parent table and the parent status to see which parents have created their accounts.

Approving miles from home is a quick and easy task on the Submissions table in your account. You will receive an email notifying you that miles are waiting to be approved.

Celebrating and Rewarding

With a virtual program, celebrating and rewarding the club and individual progress will be the key to keeping motivation high and creating a sense of community or team.

  • Set a Club Goal and share that with your participants

  • Provide updates on goals and mileage for the club and individual participants.

  • Utilize social media, your organizational website, and/or your class websites to post updates.
