Yes, the Mbrella Charge app does offer the ability to start and stop charging sessions remotely.

But there are some important considerations to keep in mind:

  1. Remote Start: You can initiate a charging session from the app without physically swiping your charging card. This is done by using the app to scan the QR code on the charger or by selecting the charger from the map in the app.

  2. Remote Stop: Similarly, you can stop a charging session from the app without being physically present at the charger.

  3. Performance Variability: While remote start and stop functionality is available, it's important to note that the performance can vary depending on the charging point. Not all charging points communicate back timely, which can affect the responsiveness of remote commands.

    1. Connection Delays: When you initiate a remote start or stop, the app sends a command through several systems. This process can sometimes take time due to various factors.

    2. Timeout Feature: The app has a 30-second timeout for remote commands. If no response is received from the charger within this time, you'll get a message suggesting to check the charger directly or try using your card instead.

  4. Physical Unplugging: While you can stop the charging session remotely, keep in mind that you'll still need to physically unplug your car from the charger. Remote stopping just ends the billing for the session.

  5. Backup Methods: If remote control doesn't work, you can always fall back to using your physical charging card or the buttons on the charger itself.

To use this feature effectively:

  1. Ensure your app is up-to-date.

  2. Make sure you have a good internet connection when trying to start or stop remotely.

  3. If the remote command doesn't seem to work, wait for the full 30-second timeout before trying alternative methods.

  4. Always have your physical charging card as a backup.

If you consistently experience issues with remote start or stop functionality, don't hesitate to contact Mbrella Charge in-app support for assistance or to reach out to charge.support@mbrella.eu.
