Hosting your videos with an external video platform is a great way to ensure a quality viewing experience for your users and to protect your video content from being downloaded.
In this article, we'll look specifically at using Vimeo to embed your videos.
There are two ways to embed your video content from Vimeo into your MV account:
Use the video embed tool that's provided in each lesson.
Embed the video directly in your text area using the 'insert/edit media' option.
Option 1: Use the provided video embed tool that's provided in each lesson.
Click into the lesson you wish to edit, and select "Vimeo" from the dropdown menu under Video Type:
In the Video Link section that appears below, you'll need to copy your full video share link from your Vimeo video.
Go to your Vimeo library, or locate the video on your main Vimeo page under "Recents." Depending on your Vimeo plan, you'll either find the video under "My library" or "Team library."
Select "Copy Link" from Vimeo and paste this into your MemberVault site. Your Vimeo video should pop up in the Video Preview box. Note, the link that displays in the box will look different from the link you copied from Vimeo -- this is normal!
Option 2: Embed the Vimeo video directly in your text area using the 'insert/edit media' option.
In the Lesson Text Editor, select Insert Media.
In the pop up box that appears, click "Embed".
This time you'll need to grab the embed code from Vimeo. Click "Share" either on the video edit page in Vimeo, or in the pop up window that appears next to the three dots under your video in your Library.
Click "Embed" to open the Embed Code menu.
Click the button at the bottom of the pop-up window to copy the embed code.
Paste your embed code into the pop-up box in MemberVault, click Save, and you're all set!
