This article will take you step-by-step through creating a new paid product, and we'll be focusing specifically on how to create a course. Know that you can tweak this process for creating any kind of digital product on MemberVault that you would like!

  1. Go to "Content" > "Products" and click on "Add Product."

  2. In the Add Product Screen, you have three options:

    1. Product Settings -- fill these out if you'd like to create your course completely from scratch without one of our templates, or if you're copy-pasting a course from another platform.

    2. Use a Template -- use one of our pre-made product templates to help guide your course development. For courses, your best options are: Fill in the Blanks, Pre-sell your Offer, or Self Led Offer with Asynchronous Support Upsell. Choose whichever one best fits your situation!

    3. Import a Product -- only use this if you're importing your course from another MemberVault account. This will not work for courses importing from outside platforms.

  3. Fill out your Product Settings:

    1. Status - Active means it's visible to your members when you have selected a Sign Up Option (more below). Invisible means that it's not visible in your public Marketplace, but people who have the link to the product can view and sign up / purchase. Archived means it's unavailable for purchase, but current members who own the product can view it. Inactive keeps it hidden from your members.

    2. Type - For courses, we recommend regular, progressive, date-dripped or time-dripped. Learn more here.

    3. Title - Title of your course

    4. Product Description - This is a brief description of your course that’s meant to entice someone to click the ‘Learn More’ button for more information about the product.

    5. Product Image - This is the main image for your course and will be seen in your Marketplace and the Product Overview Text page

    6. Product Image Alt Text - use this to clearly describe your image and improve your MV site's SEO and accessibility

    7. Product Overview Text - A message you want to display to anyone who OWNS the product.

  4. Add your Course Content

    1. Modules: Think of modules as just containers for your lessons. It's best to use modules to group your lessons in sections, or categories. If you want to give users a taste of the product, consider adding one or more Teaser Modules.

    2. Lessons: All engagement and tracking is done at the Lesson level, so it's important that all of your important content is contained in a lesson. Within a lesson you can embed videos, add lesson text, include quiz questions, and upload files.

  5. Select a Sign Up Type:

By default this is set to None meaning that people who do not own this yet, won't be able to see it or sign up for it. The EASIEST way to handle this for a course is to select "Payment". This will allow users to purchase and get instant access to your product. If you have your own sales page you want to direct them to, select "Link".

    1. Choose your Allowed Payment Types: Stripe, PayPal or both

    2. Add your Payment Options

    3. Customize your Buy and Learn More Button Texts if desired

    4. Add your Promo Text

    5. Customize your Sign Up Confirmation message if desired

  6. Add any Actions you'd like for tagging your members, sending yourself notifications of new purchases etc.

  7. Review SEO and the Additional Options section to see if there is anything further you want to customize or adjust!
