Every recipe in the Meals tab displays a nutrition breakdown so you know exactly what you're eating. Here's what you're looking at and where those numbers come from.
What's shown on each recipe
Open any recipe and you'll see five numbers displayed in a row below the recipe description:
Calories
Protein (g)
Fat (g)
Carbs (g)
Fiber (g)
Below the macros, you'll also see a Serving Size note — for example, "2 stuffed pepper halves" or "1 cup." All five numbers reflect one serving at that size.
All values are per serving
The nutrition values shown are always per serving, not for the full recipe. Most dinner recipes serve 4, so if you're cooking for yourself or scaling the recipe, you'll want to account for that when reading the numbers.
For more on serving sizes across different recipe types, see How does the Moves+ Meals tab work?
Where the numbers come from
Macro and nutrient values are calculated using nutrition software that pulls from the USDA database — a standardized, trusted source for nutritional data.
All recipes in the Meals tab are developed and reviewed by the Moves nutrition team, so the numbers you see reflect intentional, vetted recipe development — not a rough calculation. Learn more here: Who are the Moves+ nutrition experts?
Every recipe in the Meals tab can also be logged in MacrosFirst and MyFitnessPal. See How do I log Moves+ recipes in MyFitnessPal or MacrosFirst? for the search term and what the entry includes.
