Moves Plus launched on August 24, and you've been asking great questions. Here are the ones coming up most, with short answers and a link to the full detail on each.
🥗 Want to hear our nutrition team talk this through? Heather and Courtney went live on Instagram about making the Meals tab work for the way you actually eat — watch the replay.
Does Moves Plus cost $300 on top of what I already pay?
No. Moves Plus is its own membership tier. It includes everything in Moves Base plus the full Meals experience, so you're not paying for two subscriptions.
Moves Base is $200/year. Moves Plus at the founding rate is $300/year. For an annual Moves Base member, upgrading is a $100/year difference — about $8.33 more per month. The founding rate is available through October 15, 2026.
And if Moves Plus isn't for you, nothing about your Moves Base membership changes. Same price, same programs, same Moves.
I'm partway through my billing period. Do I lose that money?
You don't. Nobody loses time they've already paid for — but how it's handled depends on who bills you.
If Moves bills you directly — upgrading mid-cycle credits the unused part of your current plan automatically — and you'll see your exact total before you confirm anything.
If you're billed through Apple or Google — it works a little differently. Moves+ isn't sold through the App Store or Google Play — only our monthly Moves subscription is — so you'll need to cancel there and move over to a Moves-billed account. Our team will walk you through the whole thing, and we'll credit you $20 for the month you're currently in.
Either way, you won't pay twice for the same month.
And you'll see it before you commit: the checkout button shows your exact total — after any prorated credits, referral discounts or codes — along with the date you'll be charged. No surprises.
If the number you see today is different from one you saw a few days ago — or doesn't match what a friend paid — that's normal, not a mistake. It's calculated live from your account each time you look, and a couple of things can move it: how much of your current billing period is left, and whether you've used a discount before.
I'm on monthly Moves Base. What's the actual difference?
Smaller than most people expect. On monthly Moves Base at $20/month, the founding rate works out to about $5 more a month.
The one thing to know going in: Moves Plus is charged annually, not monthly. So it's a smaller amount overall, paid once a year rather than in twelve pieces.
Is Fall Move Together really included?
Yes. Start Moves Plus by September 25, 2026 and Fall 2026 Move Together is included at no additional cost. There's nothing extra to buy — it's part of your membership.
After September 25 the challenge isn't included, but you can still join it at the subscriber rate — and the subscriber discount on challenges applies on every plan, not just Moves Plus.
One timing note. Your price and your challenge access are set on the day your upgrade is completed, not the day you first ask about it. Upgrading inside the app or on the website is instant. If your subscription is billed by Apple or Google, the switch involves a manual step on our end and can take up to one business day — so please don't leave it until the last day.
I have dietary restrictions. Will this actually work for me?
This is one of the parts we're proudest of, and there are two layers to it.
Filters. You can filter the recipe library by twelve dietary needs — gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, peanut free, tree nut free, sesame free, shellfish free, soy free, egg free and fish free. Recipes that appear when you filter were designed that way from the start, not adjusted to fit.
Substitutions. For everything else, most recipes have a Substitutions card at the bottom of the Ingredients tab, with specific swaps grouped by dietary preference. So a recipe that isn't labeled for your diet very often still works for you — no guesswork and no starting over with a different recipe.
How often do new recipes get added?
Something new arrives every week. Your Weekly Suggestions refresh with three dinners, one lunch and one snack chosen for you, so there's always a fresh starting point without going looking for one.
New suggestions land every Sunday. If you like to plan and shop in one sitting over the weekend, just make sure to tap anything you want to keep into My Plan — suggestions you don't add get replaced the following week.
The library behind that holds 250+ recipes, and we keep adding to it for variety as we go.
And there's more coming soon: Fall 2026 Move Together brings even more you won't have seen before. If you've done a challenge with us in the past, this isn't a repeat of what you already have — and if you have both Moves Plus and Move Together, they land right in your Meals tab.
Why isn't there a monthly Moves Plus option?
We totally hear you — and it's a fair question.
Moves Plus is annual, and that was a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. Keeping Moves accessible has always been really important to us, which is exactly why we built Moves Plus as an optional upgrade rather than changing the price or the experience of the membership you already have.
Ongoing nutrition and meal-planning support has been one of our most requested additions, and we spent a long time building something we felt could provide meaningful, ongoing support for members who want more help in that area. The Meals tab isn't another place to browse recipes — it's a system built around food the same way Moves is built around training, designed to take the daily "what's for dinner" decision off your plate. That kind of shift is habit-shaped, and habits need a runway. A year gives the system time to actually become part of your week, and gives us time to keep listening and improving it alongside you.
Nothing has been taken away from the core Moves experience as part of this launch — and we're just as committed as ever to continuing to invest in new programs, expertise, features and improvements for all Moves members.
For now, Moves Plus is annual. If that ever changes, our Moves community will be the first to know.
There's also a more personal answer from Allie, our COO, on why we built Moves Plus as an optional tier instead of raising the price of Moves Base for every member. Read Allie's note and the full reasoning →
