How do I exclude exercises or movement patterns?

If certain exercises can't be performed (e.g., due to injury) or because specific equipment/machines aren't available at the gym.

If there are certain exercises you can't perform because your gym doesn't have the specific equipment (e.g., negative chest press), or you can't do them due to injury (e.g., vertical push exercises like barbell shoulder press), you can easily exclude these exercises individually.

If you want to exclude certain exercises because they are not available at your gym, you can simply create your own exercise. Just read the related article for instructions.

Exclude Exercises

To do this, go to the Training tab in the app > Training Profile (the "Training" button at the top), and then click on the question about excluded exercises. Using the search field, you can search for specific exercises - for example, enter "negative" and only exercises containing this word will be displayed. You can then simply click on the exercise "Negative Chest Press (Machine)", and it will be marked with a red cross, indicating that it’s excluded. Then save your changes to this question and confirm the changes to the Training Profile. MyFitCoach will then adjust your training plan according to your specifications (current equipment).

Exclude Movement Patterns

If you need to exclude all exercises for a specific movement pattern, you can use the filter. Just click on the filter icon next to the search bar, choose Movement Patterns, and, for example, select "Horizontal Push Exercises". Apply the filter, and only vertical push exercises will be displayed and you can exclude all of them at once. They will be marked with a red cross on the exercise image. After that, save your changes to this question and confirm the changes to the Training Profile. MyFitCoach will then adjust your training plan based on your current equipment.

If your situation changes (like if you recover from an injury), you can adjust the exercises you've excluded accordingly and MyFitCoach will adapt to your new situation.
