Sometimes there are exercises you can’t currently perform – either because of an injury or missing equipment. In such cases, you can easily exclude individual exercises or entire movement patterns in the app. Your training plan will then automatically adjust to your preferences.
Excluding individual exercises
If it’s just about specific movements, here’s how to do it:
Open the Training tab → Training Profile.
Scroll down to Excluded Exercises.
Use the search bar to enter the name or a keyword (e.g., “negative”).
Select the exercise → it will be marked with a red X.
Save your changes – your plan updates automatically.
Excluding movement patterns
If you’d like to exclude all exercises of a certain pattern (e.g., all vertical push exercises), use the filter:
Go to Excluded Exercises again.
Tap the filter icon next to the search bar.
Select the movement pattern (e.g., “Vertical Push Exercises”).
Mark all displayed exercises with a red X.
Save your changes – your plan will adapt.
Adjusting when things change
If your situation changes (e.g., an injury heals or new equipment becomes available), you can always remove the exclusions. MyFitCoach will then automatically recalculate your plan.

Yes. Simply remove the red X from the exercise or pattern and save again – your plan will be reopened and recalculated.

Exclude only the exercises or movement patterns that cause issues (e.g., vertical pushes) and keep all tolerated movements in your plan. This way, you maintain training stimulus without overloading the injured structure.
⚠️ Important: Never train into pain or provoke it. An injury doesn’t mean you must stop completely – movement within a pain-free range is still key to progress. Train around the pain or only within the range of motion that currently works for you.

If you want to track specific exercises not yet included in our app (e.g., Jefferson Curls or certain rotator cuff exercises), you can simply create a custom exercise. This allows you to log them systematically and track your progress over time.
