Logiwa IO Packing Warning Management feature will be available as a Beta version starting with the February 2025 Main Release.

For more details about Beta feature releases, please refer to the related article.

Overview

The packing screen now dynamically displays Packing Warning popups based on configured parameters. When an order is found on the packing screen, the system checks each item's Product Type and Packing Warning Type and displays appropriate popups accordingly.

(Please find more information about the Packing Warning Type configuration in the related article.)

This feature is useful for orders requiring special attention, such as hazardous materials needing special labeling, fragile items like glass, oversized products, or those with specific packing instructions, such as dunnage, bubble wrap, and packaging inserts.

Popup Content & Behavior

Popup Content

  1. Packing Warning Type Name: Displays the name of the warning type.

  2. Product Type Name: Displays the associated Product Type (e.g., Fragile, Dangerous).

  3. Packing Warning Text: Displays detailed warning text.

  4. Packing Warning Type Image: Displays a visual icon representing the warning type.

  5. Packing Warning Type Media Link: A clickable View Media Link button to open a URL with additional details.

  6. Related SKUs: Displays SKUs linked to this Packing Warning Type.

    • Only 3-4 SKUs will be shown on screen.

    • Additional SKUs will be indicated as +4, +5, etc.

Popup Behavior

  • "Skip Confirmation From Packer" Parameter

    • FALSE:

      • The popup includes a Confirm button.

      • Packer must click "Confirm" to close the popup.

      • A barcode "pwp_confirm" can be scanned to trigger the Confirm button for No Touch Packing.

    • TRUE:

      • The popup includes a timer (e.g., 10 seconds) that auto-closes it.

      • Optionally, the user can manually close the popup earlier using the X button.

      • A barcode "pwp_close" can be scanned to trigger the X button for No Touch Packing.

Popup Display Triggers

The popups are displayed based on the Packing Warning Type configuration of the products in the Shipment Order.

Below are the scenarios when the warnings will be triggered:

1. Show Warning When: Order is Displayed

  • Trigger: When the system retrieves and displays an order.

  • Action: The system checks all products in the order. If a product's Product Type is linked to a Packing Warning Type with this setting, display the popup immediately.

  • Behavior: If multiple items qualify, popups are shown sequentially.

2. Show Warning When: Close Pack is Triggered

  • Trigger: When the Close Pack button is clicked.

  • Action: The system checks all products in the shipment package. If a product's Product Type is linked to a Packing Warning Type with this setting, display the popup sequentially.

  • Exception: For single-item orders, the warning is displayed when the order is loaded instead of at Close Pack.

  • Exception: For multi-item orders that contain an Item with Box product, the warning is displayed when the order is loaded instead of at Close Pack.

3. Show Warning When: SKU is Scanned

  • Trigger: When a product is scanned/entered during packing.

  • Action: The system checks if the Product Type has a Packing Warning Type with this setting.

  • Behavior: The popup is triggered only on the first scan of a product in the order (e.g., scanning 6 units of the same SKU triggers the popup only once).

Accessing the Popup Again

  • After scanning a product, an Icon for "Show Packing Warning" will be available for each product.

  • Clicking this icon will display the Packing Warning Popup again.

  • This popup does not have a timer.

  • Users can close the popup by clicking the X button or Close button.
