Sharing your screen lets the other person see exactly what is on your computer during a live Nearo session.
đ In Nearo Rooms, only the host can share their screen. Guests in a Room can see and control the host's screen, but cannot share their own.
Starting screen sharing
To begin sharing your screen during a session:
Click Share Screen, shown as a computer icon.
A modal opens showing the screens you can share.
If no external displays are connected, only one screen option appears.
Click the screen you want to share.
Screen sharing begins immediately.
You will know screen sharing is active when you see purple lines in all four corners of the screen being shared.
Sharing your computer's audio
You can share your computer's audio along with your screen, so the other person can hear the sound from a video or another application playing on your end.
This setting is on by default.
Click Share Screen to open the list of screens you can share.
The box next to Share system audio is already checked.
Uncheck Share system audio before clicking the screen you want to share if you do not want your audio shared.
Hiding names on cursors
While you are sharing your screen, each cursor shows the name of the person it belongs to, and you can turn those names off if they are distracting or getting in the way.
Click the three dots.
Check Hide names on cursors.
You will still see the other participant's cursor, but you will not see their name next to it.
Switching the screen you are sharing
If you want to change which screen is being shared while screen sharing is active:
Click the up arrow next to Share Screen.
Select a different screen from the list.
The new screen starts sharing right away.
Stopping screen sharing
When you are finished sharing your screen:
Click Share Screen again.
The icon appears green while screen sharing is active.
Screen sharing stops as soon as you click the icon.
đĄ To turn your camera on or off, choose a camera, or change where your video sits on the screen, see Using video in Nearo.
