How do I set up texting capabilities in 'Donor Management'?

Step 1: Navigate to 'Text Messages'

From your 'Donor Management' Dashboard, click the 'Communication' tab on the left navigation panel and click 'Text Messages' from the newly expanded drop-down list.

Step 2: Setup text messaging

Clicking 'Text Messages' will bring you to a page where you will likely find a banner prompting you to set up or review your Twilio account.

Click the 'click here' link to begin the setup process.

Scroll down to the 'Text Messaging Integration' section on the 'Settings' page and click the 'Setup Text Messaging' button under 'Twilio'.

Step 3: Choose the messaging type

When the page reloads, it should display the 'Twilio Setup and Registration' process.

On this page, you will choose the type of text message - the default being a 'Toll-free' number.

If you need a local number instead (such as a new number with a local area code or an existing number), there will be a $200 registration fee. This option can take several weeks to process and verify the number - so, this may not be the best option if you are working within time constraints.

When you have chosen your text messaging type, click the 'Next' button in the upper right of the page.

Step 4: Verify your organization's details

On the next page, you will be asked to fill out and verify some additional information about your organization and confirm the number you would like to use (for local numbers).

Step 5: Select your preferred phone number

Select your preferred phone number from the drop-down list and click 'Next'.

Step 6: Review and submit your information

On the final page, you can review the information you entered. If everything is correct, click the 'Finish' button in the upper right to submit your information for verification. When your number is ready to use, you will receive a confirmation e-mail!
