You can send money from your nsave USD account to Syria and have it collected in cash at any Mada Exchange branch. After you confirm the transfer, nsave generates a pickup code. Your recipient takes this code and their ID to a Mada Exchange branch, and the branch pays out the cash.
Mada Exchange has branches in cities across Syria, there are no transfer limits, and collecting is free.
In short: select Mada Exchange → add recipient details → confirm → share the pickup code → recipient collects the cash at any Mada Exchange branch with their ID.

The written steps below cover the same process in more detail.
Part 1: Set up the transfer
1. Tap Send
From your USD Account home screen, tap Send, then tap Transfer.
Start from your USD Account and tap Send.
2. Select Syria
On the Country of bank screen, search for “Syria” and tap Syrian Arab Republic. Then tap Add recipient details.
Search for Syria and select Syrian Arab Republic.
3. Add the recipient and choose Mada Exchange
Select an existing contact or add a new recipient under Individual. Tap Bank/Account and choose Mada Exchange from the Cash Pickup list.
Choose Mada Exchange from the Cash Pickup list.
Then fill in:
First and last name: exactly as they appear on the recipient’s ID. The branch checks the name against the ID.
Syrian phone number: the recipient’s active number (+963).
Relationship: how you know the recipient.
Tap Create contact.
Enter the recipient’s details exactly as on their ID.
4. Confirm you know the recipient
nsave asks you to confirm that you know the person you are sending to. If you are unsure, stop here, because payments may not be recoverable. If everything is right, tap Confirm recipient.
Confirm that you know the recipient before continuing.
If you are asked to update your address, complete it to continue.
5. Enter the amount
Enter the amount to send. The screen shows your USD balance at the top and, below it, the amount your recipient will receive, with the fees included. Tap Continue.
Enter the amount. The fee is shown before you continue.
6. Add a reference and review
Add a short reference for the transfer (for example “Family support”). On the Cash Pickup review screen, check every line:
Recipient: the recipient’s name and Syrian Arab Republic.
Reference: the note you added.
Amount: the total taken from your USD balance.
Included fees: the transfer fee.
Recipient receives: the exact cash amount paid out at the branch.
Method: Cash pickup.
When everything is correct, swipe to confirm and enter your PIN.
Review the summary, then swipe to confirm.
Your transfer is created.
Part 2: Share the pickup code with your recipient
1. Wait for “ready to be collected”
When the transfer is ready, a banner appears on your home screen saying the amount is ready to be collected, and the transaction shows Ready for pickup. Tap Pick up.
You’ll see when the money is ready to collect.
2. Share the pickup code
The Cash Pickup window shows the pickup code (it starts with NC-), the amount, and your note. Tap Share Pick-Up Code to send it by WhatsApp, SMS, or email, or tap the copy icon next to the code.
Share the pickup code with your recipient.
Keep the code private. Share it only with your recipient. Anyone who has the code and matching ID can collect the cash.
3. Find a branch
Tap Mada Exchange Locations to see branches by city, with addresses, opening hours, and an Open in Maps link. You can forward a nearby branch to your recipient.
Find a nearby branch and its opening hours.
Part 3: Collecting the cash in Syria
The recipient goes to any Mada Exchange branch during opening hours.
They bring a valid ID. Mada uses it to verify their identity, so the name must match the one on the transfer.
They tell the staff they have an nsave transfer to collect.
They give the pickup code. The branch clears the transfer and pays out the cash.
The recipient receives the amount shown as Recipient receives. Fees were already taken when you sent the transfer.
The recipient does not need a bank account. The Mada Exchange branch acts only as a cash pickup point.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which branch can my recipient go to?
Any Mada Exchange branch. The full list, with opening hours, is under Mada Exchange Locations in the app or on their website.
What does my recipient need to bring?
A valid ID and the pickup code you shared.
How much will my recipient receive?
The amount shown as Recipient receives on the review screen. The fee is already included in the amount taken from your balance.
Is the “Reference” the same as the pickup code?
No. The Reference is the note you add about the transfer, such as “Family support”. The pickup code starts with NC- and is what the recipient gives to the branch.
I lost the pickup code. Where can I find it?
Open the transaction from your home screen, or tap Pick up on the banner. The code is always shown there.
When can my recipient collect the money?
As soon as the transfer shows Ready for pickup in your app. This is usually immediate. If it takes longer, the transfer may be under review by our compliance team, and we will keep you updated in the app.
Does the pickup code expire?
No. There is currently no deadline for collecting the money.
What if my recipient cannot collect the money?
Contact us straight away through the in-app support chat. There is no waiting period — if there is a problem at the branch, we want to know immediately.
Are there any limits?
No.
What other ways can I send cash to Syria?
You can also use cash delivery by nsave agent (Damascus area only). Cash pickup at Al Baraka Bank and NIB is paused for new transfers. Transfers already on their way there can still be collected.
My saved recipient shows as "Outdated". What do I do?
That recipient was set up for a payout route that is no longer available. Add them again as a Mada Exchange cash pickup (or nsave agent cash delivery) recipient, then send as usual.
If you or your recipient have any issue with the transfer or at the branch, contact us through the in-app support chat.
