Configuring a Handy 1 on Firmware 3 via the Handy Onboarding App

A alternative method to configure your Handy to a network is using the Handy Onboarding App.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To connect a Firmware 3 Handy to Handy Onboarding, you first need to set the device to Bluetooth mode by pressing and holding the Action button located above the LED status.

If done correctly, it will change to a Dark Blue LED.

Now, you should be able to open you Handy Onboarding app and find the device, if you noticed before connecting the app will inform you the device is on Firmware 3.

Click on Connect and let the device be connected.

Once connected a screen will appear with the terms and conditions for usage. Accept the items you want to accept and the next screen will prompt you to configure your network.

On this new screen, click on the name of your network, input the password to start the setup process. You can also scan the available networks again by clicking on "Scan Again" at the bottom of the page.

Once you configure the network, you will be prompted to make your device go Online to continue. Follow the instructions on screen clearly, as this is necessary to further access settings for your device.

Once completed, you will be prompted to update. While updating is highly recommended, if you wish to stay in Firmware 3, select Skip.

Once you skip the update, you will have access to the main page, with your connection key available to quickly copy and use.

While Handy Onboarding App has connected to the app, you won't be able to use the app to configure things such as slider settings, boot mode and more as those features are exclusive to Firmware 4.
