Connecting your Handy

Guide to connect your Handy to your network for Online use.

In order to be able to enjoy the online features of the Handy, such as remote control or video sync, you need to connect the device to your Wi-Fi network.

You can achieve this in two ways, but both are extremely similar


Setup using Handyverse app


The first method is using the Handyverse app in your preferred Mobile device, below you can find links for download on both Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

Once you install and open the app, select I’m new to Handy on the initial screen.

Select the Configure Handy option through the menu in the top left.

The second method involves using a computer with access to Bluetooth 4.2 connection for configuring the Handy. For this you can go to handyfeeling.com/setup or clicking on the three horizontal lines in the top left of the page.

Once you open this menu, you should see an option below named Configure Handy, it will take you the setup page.

No matter the method you chose to connect and configure, you will arrive at the same screen and can follow the steps below.

1. Connect your Handy to Bluetooth


Once you enter this step, the app will request access to your Bluetooth connection to continue. Select Allow and keep following the instructions until you are faced with the Configuration step.

To continue, make sure your device is in Bluetooth mode by pressing and holding the Wi-Fi button just above the LED of the device.

If done correctly, the LED will change to Blue and you can click on the Connect button on the app’s screen.

My Bluetooth cannot find the Handy

Certain devices may require that you both allow the app/website to use Bluetooth and enable Location Services on the device. Make sure these are enabled before trying again.

2. Save your connection key


After the previous step, you should see your connection key. This key is important, as you will need it for connecting to various online services. If you forget the key, you can always repeat the setup process.

You also click on the green button labeled “Generate new Key” to create a new one. Then you can choose how many characters the new key will have by adjusting the slider below the button and click on generate again to make a new key.

Once you have saved the connection key, click on Next.

3. Select a Wi-Fi network for your Handy


Next you will be prompted to select a Wi-Fi network. This could also be a hotspot, in case you don't have access to a Wi-Fi network.

The networks available will be listed once you click the blue button of the left box, each network will be separated by a horizontal divider. You can also click that same blue button to replace the credentials so you can connect to a different network.

Once connected, you should now see a box informing you that the credentials were saved and you can do a connection test. You can click Continue to test or Finish to conclude the configuration.


4. Switch to online mode


No matter if you pick Continue or Finish, for you to be able to verify if your Handy is ready for use Online, you will need to switch to Online mode.

For this, unplug the Handy and plug it back in, so that the LED turns Green. The press, without holding, the button above the LED.

After doing this, the LED should start pulsing magenta:

Once the LED pulses slower, it means that you connected successfully.

If the LED flashes red and magenta before going back to green, try repeating the process in this this step.

Make sure that you press and release the button right away. If you keep it pressed, the device will instead enter Bluetooth mode.

5. Test connection


If you selected Continue on step the end of step 3, you can now click on test connection on the next screen.

If the test is successful, you should see a screen confirming this and you are ready for use. In the case it fails, keep trying again as it take a few attempts.

If you selected Finish instead on step 3, you can also test by using the connect button on the top right of the app.

Once there, use the Connection Key you saved earlier to connect the device. Make sure you input the key correctly and click on Connect.

If your connection key is correct and your Handy is in online mode, you should see the text on the button changing to "Connected”

Once connected, you can use the controls in this panel to adjust settings on the Handy.

Now you are ready to use the Handy with Online content! Remember that you need to use your connection key to be able to sync with various websites and content as well as use features in handyfeeling.com
