Office professionals often are tasked with the responsibility of collecting all end-of-term grading information from teachers and making sure it gets into the hands of families. jmc streamlines this process by allowing office professionals to collect all of this data with just a few clicks. Once teachers have submitted grades to the office they will automatically be available to include them on midterm reports or report cards.

To set grade acceptance settings or to review which teachers have submitted grades, head to Grading > Entry > Grade Acceptance

Step One: Click the "Settings" tab to customize jmc Office grade acceptance settings.

Step Two: Select a radio button from the Grade Acceptance box to turn teacher grade acceptance on or off.

  • Grade Acceptance On: turn grade acceptance on

  • Grade Acceptance Off: turn grade acceptance off

  • Grade Acceptance On Between: set a window of time for accepting grades into the office.

Helpful Tip: If you selected the "Grade Acceptance On Between" radio button, then click the "Days from" and "Days to" calendar icons to select the opening date and the closing date of your grading window.

Step Three: Place a checkmark in the checkbox(es) next to the type of grades you would like to receive.

  • Midterm Grades: calculated or manually entered grades from the jmc Teacher Midterm Grades page

  • Course Grades: calculated or manually entered grades from the jmc Teacher Course Grades page

  • Standards and Benchmarks: assessments entered by the teacher on the Edit Assessment pages in jmc Teacher

Step Four: Place a checkmark in the checkbox(es) next to each of the terms you would like to accept grades for.

Step Five: Click the "Save" button to save your settings.

Fun Fact: When you turn on grade acceptance, teachers will receive an alert in jmc Teacher reminding them to submit grades.

Step Six: Click the "Grade Submission Log" tab to view the teachers who have submitted grades to the office.

Step Seven: Place a checkmark in the checkbox(es) next to the grade submissions you would like to view.

  • Midterm Grades: calculated or manually entered grades from the jmc Teacher Midterm Grades page

  • Course Grades: calculated or manually entered grades from the jmc Teacher Course Grades page

  • Standards and Benchmarks: Assessments entered by the teacher on the Edit Assessment pages in jmc Teacher

Step Eight: Select the term of grades to view using the "Grades Accepted/Imported" drop-down list.

Step Nine: Click the "Search" button to view a list of teachers who have and have not yet imported grades, including the course name, period, accepted grades, and import date.

Step Ten: Click the "Print" button to print the list of teachers for future reference or the "Delete Log Table" button to clear the log of who has and has not imported grades.
