NWEA test results play a big role in helping districts understand student growth and guide school improvement. If your team disaggregates NWEA data by programs like Title I, ESL, TAG, or Special Education, jmc makes it simple to generate the Special Program File (SPF) you’ll need after uploading your Class Roster File (CRF) to NWEA. Exporting this file lets you analyze NWEA data by specific student groups, helping your team spot trends, identify gaps, and make more informed decisions to support all learners.

Log in to jmc Office and go to Grading > Test Scores > Export NWEA Program (SPF) File.

Step One: Choose the "Web Based" radio button from the "Testing Method" box to select the option currently supported by NWEA.

Fun Fact: You may still see a "Client Server Based" option, but this is a legacy setting and is no longer used for NWEA testing.

Step Two: Select an option from the "Student ID" drop-down list to include in your export file:

  • Student ID: the local student ID assigned to a student in jmc

  • State ID: the ID assigned to a student by the state

  • Blank: a student ID will not be included in your export file

Step Three: Choose the appropriate radio button to upload rosters for all students or for students in a specific grade range.

Helpful Tip: Select the grade range of students from the "From" and "To" drop-down list if you are uploading a specific group of students.

Step Four: Place a checkmark next to the special programs your district uses to disaggregate NWEA results to ensure your testing company receives the information they need to break down performance by the groups you track, such as ELL, Free/Reduced, or Special Education.

Helpful Tip: Enter a short description in the “Description” field to help distinguish program names or categories within your district.

Step Five: Click the “Create Export File” button to generate the SPF file for upload to your testing company.
