In jmc, student IDs are automatically assigned as students are entered into your database, however some schools find it handy to implement a numbering structure to help organize students by student ID. jmc makes it easy to renumber students either individually or by grade level with just a few clicks to assist with the efficient management of student lists.
In jmc Office, head to the Renumber Students page, select the student or grade level you would like to renumber, and enter the new ID number or the ID number for the first student in the grade level to renumber an individual or group of students.
To begin renumbering an individual student, log in to jmc Office and head to Edit > Renumber Students.
Step One: Click the "Student ID" radio button in the "Renumber" box to change an individual student's ID number.
Step Two: Enter the student's current ID number in the "From" field to begin the process of assigning a new student ID number.
Fun Fact: Once the number is entered, the student's name will appear in the shaded box to verify that it is the appropriate student.
Step Three: Enter the new student ID number in the "To" field to assign the new ID number to the selected student.
Step Four: Click the "OK" button to save the changes to the student's ID number.
To renumber all students in a particular grade level, log in to jmc Office and head to Edit > Renumber Students.
Step One: Click the "Grade" radio button in the "Renumber" box to renumber all students within a specific grade level.
Step Two: Select the appropriate grade level from the "Grade" drop-down list to begin renumbering all students in the chosen grade.
