Our Perifit app is designed to help you stay on track with your training goals, and timely reminders are an important part of this support. If you’re using a Samsung device with Android 12 or newer and are not receiving these reminders, this may be due to a recent change in your phone’s settings. Below, we guide you through two simple adjustments to resolve this.
Cause
With the Android 12 update, Samsung introduced a new “Alarms & reminders” setting that affects how notifications work in certain apps, including Perifit Care. By default, this setting may not be enabled, which can prevent reminders from coming through.
Additionally, Samsung prioritizes battery life, which may limit background app activity if the battery usage setting is “Restricted” for certain apps. This can prevent notifications when Perifit is not actively open.
Solution
To ensure notifications for your Perifit Care app are enabled, please follow both steps below:
Step 1: Enable Alarms & Reminders Setting
Long press the Perifit Care app icon on your home screen.
Tap “App info” in the pop-up menu.
Select “Alarms & reminders” and toggle this setting on.
Step 2: Adjust Battery Usage Settings
Open your phone's Settings > Apps > Perifit Care
In the Usage section, find Mobile data, Battery, and Storage.
Tap Battery. Although it may not look clickable, select it to access three options: Restricted, Optimised, and Unrestricted.
Choose either Optimised or Unrestricted. This setting allows Perifit to run in the background and send notifications even when the app is not open, unlike the Restricted option.
Once these settings are enabled, your Perifit Care app should send reminders as expected, supporting you in staying on track with your goals. If you need any further help, please feel free to reach out to our support team via the ? button in the app.
