Custom linking in AI funnels lets you build flexible, logical, and highly personalized funnels by setting the rules that define who sees which page and when.
Every button can lead somewhere different depending on what a funnel visitor picked earlier, so the path adapts to each person instead of running the same way for everyone.
TL;DR
Select a button, answer option, or form submit button in Edit mode and click Linking to pick the funnel page or external URL it leads to. This is included in all plans.
Choose Advanced linking in the same menu, where you build if/then rules based on how visitors answered. This needs the Grow plan, the Business (Legacy) plan, or the Personalization Suite.
You can also add links or advanced linking rules by prompting in the AI chat inside Perspective or in your AI assistant connected via Perspective MCP.
What types of linking are available in my AI funnel?
When you click a button or an answer option inside your funnel, you’ll see the Linking setting. There you can define what happens when a visitor clicks it.
By default, all buttons link to the next funnel page.
1. Standard linking (available in all plans)
Options for standard linking:
Specific funnel page: Sends the visitor to another page in your funnel.
External URL: Link to an external website or another Perspective funnel.
When linking to an external site, the linked page opens in the same browser tab by default.
You can also link individual words or sentences within text blocks - just highlight the text, click the small link icon, and add your URL.
Here's how to link a button or a quiz answer to a page or an external URL in the AI funnel editor:
Open your AI funnel and switch to Edit mode in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Click the button or answer option you want to link, then click Linking in the small toolbar that appears above it.
Pick the page you want to send visitors to from the list, or click External URL, paste your link into the field, and confirm it with the checkmark.

2. Advanced linking (available from the Grow/Business (Legacy) plan)
Advanced Linking lets you set up complex rules and conditions that determine which page a visitor should see next.
ℹ️ Advanced linking is available starting from the Grow / Business (Legacy) plan. It can also be added through the Personalization Suite.
Here's how to set up the advanced linking in an AI funnel:
Select the button or answer option, click Linking, and choose Advanced linking.
Click Add rule and pick the question the rule should look at.
Choose how the answer should be compared, for example Equals, and select the answer you want to match.
Add another condition with Add Condition if the path should only open when more than one thing is true, and set it to And or Or.
Under Then go to, pick the page the matching visitors should land on. If necessary, add any further rules with Add rule.
Set the In all other cases page underneath them, and click Apply.
Always set the In all other cases page, even if you think every visitor will match one of your rules. It's the fallback that catches everyone who doesn't, so nobody gets stuck on a page with nowhere to go.
💡 You can also have AI build the rules for you. Describe the branching you want in the AI Chat inside the editor, or in your AI assistant connected via the Perspective MCP, and say where everyone who doesn't match the rule should go.
Rules are checked from top to bottom, and the first one that matches wins. That order is your priority, so put your most specific rule first, and your broader ones underneath it. You can easily reorder the existing rules and change the priority.
