Emergency contacts are prominently displayed on your profile so you can be reached quickly if something urgent comes up.
Add an emergency contact
On your profile, tap the edit icon, then scroll down to the Emergency Contacts section.
Tap Add Emergency Contact.
In the modal, enter the contact's name, phone number, and relationship to you (like "Wife" or "Primary").
Tap Add Emergency Contact to confirm. The button only activates once every required field is filled in.
The modal closes and the contact appears as a card. You can cancel adding a contact at any point before confirming.
Edit or remove a contact
To edit, tap an existing contact and update their details, then save your changes.
To remove, tap the delete icon and confirm: "Delete this contact?"
Important: You can have up to 5 emergency contacts, and exactly one must always be marked Primary. You can't delete the Primary contact without first promoting a different one, and PLAI won't accept a duplicate contact with a phone number you've already added.
FAQ
Can I remove Primary status without assigning it to someone else?
Not if it's your only contact, you'll see: "At least one contact must be primary." If you have more than one contact, removing Primary from one automatically promotes the next contact to Primary.
What happens if I try to add a 6th contact?
You'll see a message that the maximum of 5 contacts has been reached, and you'll need to remove one before adding another.
Can I add the same phone number twice under different names?
No, PLAI checks by phone number: "The same contact is already exist," and blocks the duplicate.
Can I delete my only remaining contact?
PLAI will show a message recommending you keep at least one, since emergency contacts matter for safety, but a hard block on this isn't specified.
