Overview
This article explains how users can select modifiers for an item in Platter POS. Modifiers are created in the Back Office and help add details such as toppings, sauces, sides, or cooking preferences. Mandatory modifiers must be selected before an item can be added to the order.
Prerequisites
Admin or Manager access to create modifiers in the Back Office
Modifiers assigned to items or categories
POS synced with the latest menu updates
Steps
Selecting Modifiers When Adding a New Item
When the user selects an item on Platter POS, all modifier options that have been created in the Back Office will appear.
If the item has mandatory modifiers, the user must select all required options before continuing.
After selecting the modifiers, tap Add.
The item will appear in the order list, and all selected modifiers will be displayed under that item.
The modifiers will also be sent to the KDS to ensure the kitchen receives accurate customization details.
Selecting Modifiers for an Existing Order Item
Press the item in the order list for 2 seconds.
A menu will appear, and choose the modifiers as needed.
Tap Edit again to apply the changes.
You can edit modifiers before sending the order.
After the order is sent, modifiers can no longer be edited.
Troubleshooting
Cannot add item
Mandatory modifiers must be selected before the POS allows the item to be added.
Modifiers not appearing
Check that modifiers are assigned correctly in the Back Office and that the POS is synced.
Updated modifiers not showing on KDS
Ensure the KDS is online and connected.
