Overview
This article explains how to use the Product Detail screen in Platter POS. The Product Detail screen allows staff to quickly view an item’s description, modifiers, add-ons, and notes, and then add the item directly to an order. It also helps users understand item details without holding or long-pressing; simply tapping the item opens the detail view.
Prerequisites
User must be logged into the Platter POS
Item must be created in the Back Office with:
Description (optional)
Modifiers (optional)
Add-ons (optional)
The menu must be synced to the POS
Steps
On the Order screen, tap any product or item.
In Platter, users do not need to press or hold; a simple tap opens the Product Detail screen.
The Product Detail screen appears and shows:
Item description (if added in Back Office)
If modifiers are assigned to the item
If add-ons are linked to the product
Notes section
Review details, make selections for modifiers and add-ons, and add them.
Tap Add to add the product to the order.
Troubleshooting
Item details are not appearing.
Check whether a description has been added for the item in the Back Office.
Ensure the POS has synced the latest menu updates.
Modifiers or add-ons are missing.
