Using the Item Detail Screen

Overview

This article explains how to use the Product Detail screen in Platter POS. The Product Detail screen allows staff to quickly view an item’s description, modifiers, add-ons, and notes, and then add the item directly to an order. It also helps users understand item details without holding or long-pressing; simply tapping the item opens the detail view.

Prerequisites

  • User must be logged into the Platter POS

  • Item must be created in the Back Office with:

    • Description (optional)

    • Modifiers (optional)

    • Add-ons (optional)

  • The menu must be synced to the POS

Steps

  1. On the Order screen, tap any product or item.

    • In Platter, users do not need to press or hold; a simple tap opens the Product Detail screen.

  2. The Product Detail screen appears and shows:

    • Item description (if added in Back Office)

    • If modifiers are assigned to the item

    • If add-ons are linked to the product

    • Notes section

  3. Review details, make selections for modifiers and add-ons, and add them.

  4. Tap Add to add the product to the order.

Troubleshooting

Item details are not appearing.

  • Check whether a description has been added for the item in the Back Office.

  • Ensure the POS has synced the latest menu updates.

Modifiers or add-ons are missing.

  • Confirm that modifiers and add-ons are assigned to the item in Back Office.

  • Make sure they are active and not disabled.

  • Sync the POS if changes were recently made.
