Overview
This article explains how to use Quick Service Mode in Platter POS to place and complete orders without assigning a table or customer.
This mode is designed for fast-paced environments such as takeout counters and quick-service restaurants, where speed and minimal input are critical.
Prerequisites
Active Platter POS login
User must have the following permissions:
Takeout Module
Payment Access
POS device must be online and synced
Steps
1. Log in to Platter POS
Open the Platter POS app and log in with any active user who has permission to access Takeout and Payments.
2. Open Quick Service Mode
From the main navigation:
Navigation Menu > Takeout > Quick Takeout
You will be taken directly to the menu screen.
No customer details or table number are required in this mode.
3. Take Order, Checkout & Finalize
Select items from the menu
Add modifiers or notes if required
Review the order
Proceed to checkout
Complete payment using:
Cash
Card
Split Bill
Other enabled payment options
After payment:
Finalize the invoice - this completes the order and returns you to the Takeout screen
If required, void the invoice before finalization
Print a physical receipt or send a digital receipt (If the customer wants)
4. If the Customer Wants to Pay Later
To leave the order unpaid, simply tap the Takeout module button to exit without finalizing the invoice.
All unpaid orders and pending invoices remain listed there
Open the order later to complete payment and finalize
5. Viewing Previous Invoices and Orders
If the user needs to view the last invoice or any previous order:
Open the Orders module in Platter
This section displays all invoices, including:
Dine-in tables
Takeout orders
Quick Service orders
Users can review, reprint, and manage completed or pending invoices from this module
Troubleshooting
If Quick Takeout is missing, verify the user has Takeout permission
If payment options are unavailable, confirm the user has Payment access
If menu items are missing, check the POS sync status
If an order will not complete, ensure the invoice is finalized and a payment method is configured
