Welcome to ubbu!
After receiving your confirmation email, you'll be able to create your password and log in to the platform for the first time.
Before you start, check that you have the equipment you need for your ubbu lessons. We recommend a computer connected to a video projector and speakers, a computer or tablet for each student or pair of students, and internet access. For more detailed requirements, see the article What do I need to use ubbu?.
Step 1
Create your first class
When you log in to ubbu for the first time in teacher mode, you'll see the main screen. To add a new class to your account, just click the + New class button, give the class a name, choose the school year, and enter the number of students. When you're done, click Create class.
Your new class will appear on the main page. You can edit it later, add or remove students, and check the class's original password, on the Class Management page. To learn more, see the article Creating classes and students.
âFor security reasons, your students' usernames are generated automatically, but you can link their real names or generate new usernames. See this article to learn more.â
Step 2
Navigate the curriculum
After creating your first class, click on it to access the lessons. You'll see the list of available lessons, with the title, description, lesson plan, and list of resources for each one. You can preview any resource before starting the lesson.
To learn more about how each lesson plan is organized, see the article Lesson plans.
Step 3
Students login
Each student received a username, made up of an animal, a color, and a number, which they'll use together with the class's original password to log in to the platform.
Once they log in for the first time, if you'd like, you can suggest that students change their password. For more information, see the article How do I change a student's password?.
Your students can also log in to the platform in pair mode, which means you don't need as many computers to teach a lesson. See the article Login to ubbu as a student to learn more.
Step 4
Your first lesson
Once your whole class is online, you can start the lesson by clicking Enter and then Presentation. From there, you can navigate between the lesson's resources, switch between teacher mode and student mode, and track your students' progress in real time.
âWhen you're done, click Stop presentation and then End. The lesson will be marked as completed, and a report will be generated, which you can view on the Class metrics page.
To learn more about teaching and navigating within a lesson, see the article Teaching a lesson on ubbu. To learn more about the generated report, see the article Class metrics.
Step 5
Enjoy ubbu!
Now that you've finished your first lesson, the sky's the limit. Take some time to read the other articles in our Help Center and learn more about using the platform.
