Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to add profiles in CORE

  • Understand the differences between Private and Public data

What are Profiles?

CORE is structured in the following hierarchy:

  • Brandsets

    • Brands

      • Profiles

Profiles sit within Brands and allow you to focus on the performance of a specific social channel. You'll be able to track Profiles from the following sites:

  • Facebook

  • Google Analytics

  • Instagram

  • LinkedIn

  • X

  • Youtube

Types of Data

CORE gives you the option to collect public or private data from each profile.

  • Private data comes directly from the data provider's native platform using their formulas and algorithms rather than those by Pulsar. For example, when tracking an X Profile, you will be seeing data from X Analytics as it is displayed on their site.

  • Public data, on the other hand, is collected by analyzing the profile's content. Pulsar then uses this data to measure a post's performance based on metrics such as engagements, visibility, etc.

Private data is richer than public data (eg demographics data per profile). For this reason, we recommend plugging in all your owned profiles and maintaining your tokens.

YouTube, LinkedIn, and Google Analytics are always private data and require plugging in.

Instagram, Facebook, and X have both public and private data, so you will often see toggles that allow you to switch between Private and Public data:

🚨Important: To collect private data, you'll need to plug in your profile. Plugging in requires you to log in and provide authorization so the option to plug in is only available for Owned Brands.

Creating Profiles

You can add any public profile from X or Instagram to CORE as long as it is a globally available public account or Facebook page. However, you will only retrieve public data until the profile is plugged in.

To add a profile without plugging in, you'll need to first create a Brandset and Brand. Instructions for setting these up can be found in the articles linked below

If you've created a new Brand, you'll have the option to add a Profile directly from the Brandset page.

If you're adding a profile to an existing Brand, you'll need to navigate to the Brandset Settings to add the profile

You can find instructions for plugging in a profile in the following articles

Deleting Profiles

To delete a profile, navigate to the Brandset Settings. Then, click the delete icon next to the profile you'd like to remove

🚨Important: Deleting profiles cannot be undone
