Adding New Property Records & Updating Existing

If the csv file contains any NEW property addresses, you'll want to upload using Add data and either Adding properties to a new list not in REISift yet (if the list/list name has not been created in your account yet) OR Uploading to an existing list if the list/list name has already been created.
Add data will add any new records and update existing records with the new lists, tags, property status, phone numbers, notes, etc.
For more information on adding new records see: Uploading New Records

Updating Existing Records Only

If all the records in the csv file are already in your REISift account, for example you exported records, skip traced them, and need to upload the skip tracing results, you'll select Update Data.

Update data does not add new property records to your account. Any new property addresses included when selecting the Update Data options will be "Not Uploaded". To add new records, select the options under Add Data instead.

When Updating data, you can update by property address, by mailing address or by phone number.

Updating by Property Address

When updating by property address, the property address columns are required. We will look for an exact match by property address in your account when updating.

When uploading phone numbers by property address, the phone numbers will also be added to any other properties owned by the same owner. To apply the skip tracing status, select a date the records were skip traced. If no date is selected the skip trace status will be "never".

When uploading phone numbers by mailing address, the numbers will also be added to any property records associated with that owner's mailing address. To apply the skip tracing status, select a date the records were skip traced. If no date is selected the skip trace status will be "never".

The update by mailing options to do not add property lists, tags, statuses, or make any other updates per property. If you need to tag records or add property status, upload using one of the options under update by property instead.

Miscellaneous

The options under Misc. allow you to make updates based on phone numbers. These options do not add any lists, tags, property statuses, etc to the property. If you need to make updates to the property, select an update by property address option.

These options require one single column of phone numbers, and a single column of phone type, tags, or status based on the option selected.

When uploading using one of the misc. options you will not see any information in the upload breakdown other than total amount of records. The upload breakdown gives the amount of property or owner records, since phone numbers can be associated with multiple records and no address is required, a count is not shown for new, updated, duplicates or not uploaded. This does not mean the phone type, status, or tag wasn't updated.

Additional Tips

  • Select the option that best describes what you're wanting to achieve with your upload. If you do not see the specific update data option here, selecting tagging existing properties can be used as a general "update by property" option.

  • Before uploading, double-check your csv and ensure you have all required columns for mapping.

  • Don't forget to select when and where the records were skip traced if uploading skip traced data.

  • Some skip tracing providers change the formatting of the property address. If you're seeing not uploaded records and all records should exist in your account, try re-uploading and selecting Uploading phone numbers by mailing address to match by mailing instead of property address.

  • Not Uploaded Records: Update data does not add new property addresses. If there are any new records in the csv, upload using Add data and add to a new or existing list instead.

  • The options under Update Data do not fill in or replace mailing addresses. If you need to fill in missing mailing addresses or change the mailing address for existing records, select Add data -> Swapping owners of existing property. For more information see: Explaining the Swap Owners Upload Option
