Overview
The Command Center is where the magic happens: communication, scheduling, follow-ups.
This article walks through the major features and tools inside the Command Center, and how your team can best leverage them.
Where to find the Command Center
Log in to RentEngine
Click the Command Center tab
Use the search bar and filters to find specific prospects or groups
What you can do in the Command Center
1. View all conversations
The Command Center shows every prospect interaction across your portfolio.
You can:
View recent conversations (call and text) and leasing event history
See everything about a prospect, including:
Lead source and assigned agent/subteam
Other interested properties (and their status)
Add notes and manual follow-ups
See full property details without switching tabs
Start showings and add showing feedback
Send messages and make phone calls
2. Search and filter
Use the search bar and filters to find:
A prospect by name, phone number, or address
Prospects by status
Prospects with paused follow-ups
Message that still need a response ("unanswered")
3. Respond to leads
The Command Center centralizes all messaging:
Text messages
Calls
Automated follow-ups
4. Log leasing events
When you interact with a prospect (call or text) and their status changes, log a leasing event:
Open the conversation
Click Action
Choose the appropriate event
Add any internal notes
Action events also send a message to the prospect if selected.
Note: Non-action events update status but do not send messages.
5. Snooze conversations
Temporarily hide a conversation until a later time.
To snooze:
Hover over the message card
Click Snooze
Choose duration
Choose whether it’s for you or everyone
Note: Full guide here.
7. Assign prospects and users
You can assign a prospect to a specific team member for ownership:
Open the prospect
Click Action → Assign to user
Choose the user
Assignment affects:
Who receives notifications
Who is responsible for converting that lead
Prospects without assignments notify all team members on the property’s subteam.
8. Track prospect status
Statuses reflect where a prospect is in the leasing process (e.g., New, Contacted, Showing Desired).
Statuses control:
Message automation
Follow-up behavior
Reporting segmentation
Updating statuses manually ensures accurate pipeline tracking.
Command Center panels and indicators
Log internal context or manual outreach and set reminders for future action.
View, edit, cancel, or create your own follow-ups directly from the conversation.
Best practices for using the Command Center
Filter by Unanswered Messages: Prioritize new and active conversations first.
Log leasing events and notes: Always record calls, texts, and interactions.
Use follow-ups intentionally: Create or edit them when automation doesn’t fit.
Keep statuses accurate: This powers automation and reporting.
Use filters daily: Find paused or stalled prospects quickly.
Assign accountability: Use assignments so every lead has an owner.
Troubleshooting common Command Center issues
I don’t see a conversation
Confirm the prospect’s status isn’t archived or snoozed
Adjust filters to show all conversations, not just unanswered messages or prospects only assigned to your properties
If you need help, contact RentEngine support via chat with the prospect name and a description of what you’re seeing.
