Set up branding and home screen hero image (Admin Panel)

Learn how to upload your logo, set your brand color, and configure your home screen hero image so patients see a polished first impression in your app.

Overview

The Home screen is the first view patients see when they open your Patient Rewards app. From the App Builder, you can upload your practice logo, choose a primary brand color, and set a hero image with header copy. You can also preview how memberships, top-selling services, offers, and location information appear on the home screen.

This article is for practice owners, managers, and admins configuring branding during onboarding or after a rebrand.

Before You Start

  • You must have Administrator, Manager, or Marketing access to edit App Builder content.

  • Click App Builder in the left-side navigation, then open the Home screen editor.

  • Review Asset guide (Admin Panel) for file types and dimensions before uploading:

    • Logo: PNG with transparent background; minimum height 366px; max 1MB

    • Hero image: JPG; 1302 x 1170px; max 2MB

  • Have your logo file, hero image, and brand color (RGB, HSL, or HEX) ready.

Why It Matters

Strong home screen branding helps you:

  • Make a professional first impression when patients download or open your app.

  • Reinforce your practice identity with consistent logo and color across the patient experience.

  • Promote memberships and offers with a hero image and copy that reflect your current marketing priorities.

  • Build trust with clear location and contact information on the home screen.

How It Works

What patients see on Home. The home screen can include:

  • A hero image with main and optional sub-header text

  • A memberships carousel (only if you have active memberships)

  • Top-selling services (populated from live app purchase data)

  • Special and automated offers you have published

  • Location and contact information (if you have multiple locations, patients select one at sign-up)

Logo display: Your logo appears in the app header. Upload a horizontal logo with a transparent background for best results. See Avoid logos that dominate the header (Admin Panel) and Avoid logos that display too small (Admin Panel) if your logo does not look right after upload.

Primary brand color: Your primary color appears across the app as both background and accent. When your brand color is used as a background, overlay text stays white for legibility. Test contrast with the WebAIM contrast checker before finalizing.

Hero image and copy: The main header is required; the sub-header is optional. Use imagery that represents your practice without heavy patterns that make text hard to read.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Upload your practice logo

  1. Log in to your Admin Panel.

  2. Click App Builder in the left-side navigation.

  3. Open the Home screen editor.

  4. Under Logo, click the grey Upload a JPEG or PNG box.

  5. Select your logo file (PNG with transparent background recommended).

  6. Preview how the logo appears in the header. Re-upload if it looks too large or too small.

Set your primary brand color

  1. On the Home screen editor, click the rectangle under Primary Color.

  2. Select a color from the map, enter an RGB, HSL, or HEX value, or use the color dropper to sample from your logo or hero image.

  3. Preview the color across the app preview panel.

  4. Confirm text remains readable on colored backgrounds.

Upload your hero image and header copy

  1. On the Home screen editor, click the grey Upload a JPEG or PNG box under Main Image & Header.

  2. Select a hero image that clearly represents your practice (website or social imagery works well).

  3. In the text fields to the right of the hero image, enter your main header (required).

  4. Optionally enter a sub-header below the main header.

  5. Save your changes and preview the home screen.

Best Practices and Pro Tips

  • Use a horizontal logo with transparent padding. This prevents the logo from dominating or shrinking in the header.

  • Avoid busy hero images. Simple, high-contrast imagery makes header text easier to read.

  • Test your brand color for contrast before going live. Dark or low-contrast colors can reduce readability on buttons and banners.

  • Keep hero copy short. A clear main header and one-line sub-header perform better than long paragraphs.

  • Coordinate with your onboarding team if you need help resizing assets. Your Client Experience Manager can help optimize files that do not meet dimension requirements.

Common Mistakes and FAQs

Q: My logo looks too big or too small in the app header. What should I do?

A: Re-export your logo with the correct dimensions and transparent padding. See Avoid logos that dominate the header (Admin Panel) and Avoid logos that display too small (Admin Panel).

Q: Why is my brand color showing white text on colored backgrounds?

A: RepeatMD uses white overlay text on brand-color backgrounds for legibility. Choose a brand color dark enough to support white text, and verify with the WebAIM contrast checker.

Q: The memberships section does not appear on my home screen. Why?

A: The memberships widget only displays when you have at least one active membership. Configure memberships under Memberships in the MedCommerce Engine section, then return to App Builder to adjust carousel display.

Q: Can I change the Connect with us image on the home screen?

A: By default, this section uses your business logo. To use a different image, send the new file to your Onboarding Specialist or CSM for upload. See the Connect with us section in Asset guide (Admin Panel).

Q: Who can edit home screen branding?

A: Administrators and Managers can access the App Builder and edit the Home screen.
