✨ When You Need This Guide

Trying to send a file to patients or contacts via text or email? This guide helps you do just that—even though direct attachments aren’t supported, there’s an easy workaround.

Use this guide if you:

  • Want to send a PDF, newsletter, or flyer to patients

  • Need to include a document in a bulk message

  • Are wondering how to attach a file to a text or email

  • Want to boost site traffic or SEO by linking to your website

✅ How to Share a File via Link (🖇️)

Because direct file attachments aren’t available, you’ll upload the file elsewhere and send a clickable link.

Option 1: Upload to Your Website

  1. Add the file to a page on your website.

    • Ask your website admin or support team if needed.

  2. Copy the public URL to that page or resource.

  3. Paste the URL in your Aloha message.

    • Add it to a text message or use a button in an email for a polished look.

💡 Bonus: Linking to your website can increase site visits and boost your SEO!

Option 2: Upload to Google Drive

  1. Open your Google Drive and upload the file.

  2. Right-click the file → Click "Share".

  3. Change the settings to "Anyone with the link can view".

  4. Copy the shareable link.

  5. Paste that link into your text or email message in Aloha.

🛑 Important: If you don’t update the share settings, your contacts won’t be able to open the file.

📤 How to Include the Link in a Message

  • In a Text Message:
Just paste the URL into the message body. Keep it short and clear!

    Example:
Check out our June newsletter: https://yourlink.com/newsletter

  • In an Email:
Use the button feature to make the link more noticeable.
Example button text: View Flyer or Download Here

🎉 You’ll Know It Worked When:

  • The message sends without errors

  • The link is clickable and opens correctly

  • Patients or recipients can view or download the file

  • You notice increased traffic to your linked page (if using your website)
