Shopify Tag segments turn customer tags that already live on your Shopify profiles into reusable Shopflo segments. Instead of rebuilding an audience from scratch, you point Shopflo at an existing tag (for example COD, VIP, or a city) and it groups those customers for you, ready to use in discounts and automations, or for personalised messaging. You create and edit them right inside the Segments tab.
→ Open the Segments tab in your Shopflo dashboard.
Before you begin
You need tags already applied on your Shopify. Shopflo matches on the exact tag, so the tag you want to use must already exist in Shopify.
Tags are case-sensitive and must match the exact spelling used in Shopify, so VIP and vip count as two different tags.
How to create a Shopify Tag segment
Step 1: In your Shopflo dashboard, open the Segments tab and start a new segment. In the Start grouping your customers panel, choose Shopify Tag.
Step 2: Give the segment a Title (and an optional description) so you can find and reuse it later.
Step 3: Under Where, choose how the condition should match: keep Tags is to include a tag, or switch it to Tags is not to exclude one. Then type your tag in the field (for example, high-aov). Use a comma to add more than one tag to the same condition.
Step 4 (optional): Click Add condition to add another tag rule. Each condition has its own is / is not operator, so you can mix include and exclude rules. Use the And / Or dropdown to choose how the conditions combine: And means a customer must match every condition, Or means matching any one is enough.
Step 5: Click Save Segment. Your segment is now live and stays in sync as the underlying Shopify tags change.
Where to use your segment
A Shopify Tag segment behaves like any other Shopflo segment. Target it in a discount or an automation or send them personalised campaigns to give that group of customers a tailored experience.
