Omni is the Simpology Assessment solution. Omni Workbench is the interface that you login to when you launch Omni. The workbench is where you can open Omni records and work on assessment activities.

Every application that is submitted will then create a corresponding Omni record for that application. The Omni record is the workflow to follow to progress an application from submission through to settlement.

Users (eg Assessors) will use the Omni Workbench to work on Assessment tasks that have been allocated to them and progress an application.

Omni is used alongside Loanapp, which is the Application data/record.

Omni is connected to third party services (eg bureau, valuations, LMI, Solicitors) that might be required in Assessment.

Omni is also connected to logic Engines, in particular Policy and Decisioning which deliver Policy outcomes to Omni.

Finally, Omni is connected to the Lender's core banking platform. The final activities in Omni will be to send the finalised application data to the Core platform to create new mortgage accounts.

This article gives a brief overview of the four key components of the Omni Workbench:

Omni Workbench

The Omni Workbench is the interface that shows you what assessment activities are happening or need to happen, for a submitted application to be assessed and settled.

The key elements of the Omni Workbench are:

  1. The Omni Application Record you are currently viewing/working on

  2. The current Status of the record in the Assessment workflow. The status on this application is "Application Submitted"

  3. The people who are currently connected to this application (are interested parties). Currently in this image the listed people are the broker, and Applicant 1, Applicant 2

  4. The Assessment activity, or activities that have been triggered for this application. As this application has been just submitted, the first assessment activity has been triggered - "Review Submitted application"

Search for specific Omni Application records

You can search for specific records via the search bar at the top of the page:

Filter what records or tasks you are viewing

You can filter your workbench by using the filters on the side panel:

Filter the types of activities that are shown on screen

When you are in your specific record, you can choose the 'types' of activities that you want to be able to view. Here I have ticked on the Process and Action Items for this record:

⚠️ What you can/can't see and do in Omni will depend on the Permissions that have been given to your User Profile.

Digital Services Panel

The Digital Services Panel gives you access to any Digital Services that have been enabled in the Channel to be used in Application and Assessment workflows.

You can expand the panel to see/use each of the services:

As an assessor in Omni, you will be able to see:

  • any Digital Services that have already been triggered/completed in Loanapp for this application, the current status, and the outcome of the service

  • any Digital Services that can only be triggered from Omni

As an assessor in Omni, you are also able to re-run credit policy whenever you think required (eg after a third party service is returned), by clicking "Check Application".

This means when you get new data from credit critical third party services, you can re-run your credit policy to understand if Assessment/Decisioning logic has changed.

The Reporting Widget

The Reporting Widget allows you to generate any Outputs that are available to you in your assessment workflow.

The available Outputs will depend on those configured and included by your lender.

Typical Outputs are Approvals, Assessment Summary, Solicitors Instructions, Cover Sheets etc

Assessment Module

The Assessment Module is the section that an Assessor uses to review Credit Policy, see a generated summary of the application and add notes as they assess (Assessment Summary), Set Conditions of approval; and complete Conditional and Formal Approvals.

The Assessment Module for an Application is accessed by filtering (ticking) the "Type" to Assessment (and un-ticking all other types):

When you click open the Assessment Process, you will open the "Assessment Interface" on screen:

The key components of the Assessment Module are:

  • The Assessment Main Process - this houses the Conditional and Formal approval workflows and outcomes

  • The Assessment Areas - these are configurable 'areas' or buckets of Decisioning rules and logic, allowing you to work through and view outcomes of these rules. Assessment "Areas" will be logical groupings of logic (eg all the rules that pertain to the Security property may be grouped in an Area).

  • The Assessment Summary - this is where you build a summary of your assessment, make notes and observations, record validations and decisions (like the traditional credit file)
