What is the Carrier Network?
The Carrier Network is the digital ecosystem of carrier partners you rely on to move freight. Within the Visibility Network, it serves as your digital bridge. By onboarding carriers, you extend tracking capabilities beyond your own fleet so every load is visible to the end customer.
Why onboarding early matters
Your digital operations succeed when carriers are onboarded well before a transport is planned or assigned.
Build customer trust: Shippers expect visibility as soon as a load is assigned.
Improve KPIs: Early onboarding reduces transports that have no tracking data.
Scale faster: A pre-onboarded network lets you take on more volume without technical delays.
Addressing carrier concerns: privacy & control
When inviting carriers, questions about data privacy are common. Reassure carriers that they remain in control of their data.
Consent-based tracking: Tracking is never “always on.” It starts when a vehicle is assigned to a specific transport and stops automatically upon delivery.
GDPR compliance: Transporeon follows strict data-processing rules (DPA) to protect driver privacy and sensitive fleet data.
Network privacy: Your relationship with the carrier is private. Your carrier list is not revealed to other carriers or customers.
The onboarding journey (phases)
Phase 1: Plan your carrier list
Identify the carriers that handle most of your outsourced loads. To achieve high visibility coverage quickly, prioritize your highest-volume partners.
Phase 2: Invite carriers to the Visibility Network
The Visibility Network offers multiple ways to grow your network at your own pace:
Individual invites: Best for adding new partners as you contract them.
Bulk import: Upload a CSV or Excel list of carriers to populate your database instantly, and choose to invite them right away or later.
Phase 3: Track onboarding status & follow up
Knowing where a carrier is in the process helps you remove bottlenecks. Use onboarding statuses like Invited, Visibility source pending, or Onboarded to prioritize follow-ups.
Phase 4: Activate real-time visibility on transports
Move from a “connected” carrier to a “tracked” transport. Once a carrier is onboarded, use the License Plate Lookup tool to confirm license plates are available and ready for tracking.
Phase 5: Organize & scale with groups
As your network grows, use Groups to organize carriers by region, customer, or lane. This helps you find and manage large partner bases at scale.
