How to integrate with mSpaceLock

Updated yesterday

This article explains how to set up mSpaceLock for your site, including site-level and unit-level configurations, customer access, and unit linking.

How it works

When mSpaceLock is integrated with Stora, your customers receive a passcode for door and gate access. On move‑in day, they scan a QR code at the site or unit, open an mSpaceLock web page, and enter their passcode to gain access. The same passcode applies to general gates/entrances and the customer’s unit (as configured).

Integrating mSpaceLock with Stora

How to connect a site to mSpacLock

⚠️ Stora support must complete this step. It cannot be done manually.

Once you are ready to connect your site to mSpaceLock, contact our support team and let them know. They will need the following details from you:

  • Username and Password for your mSpaceLock dashboard

💡Once we have this information, we will be able to get the external side ID.

How to connect your units to mSpaceLock

  1. In Stora, open your Site and go to Units.

  2. Find an unlinked unit and hover over the “i” beside mSpaceLock Number.

  3. Click Link now. Stora will then search mSpaceLock for a unit with the same name and link it.

  4. Confirm the mSpaceLock unit ID now appears beside the mSpaceLock Number.

⚠️ The unit must already exist in mSpaceLock with the same name. Stora does not create missing units during linking.

If a unit is missing in mSpaceLock or has a different name, create or rename it in mSpaceLock, then try again.

How gate and entrance access work

mSpaceLock controls general gate and entrance access. The passcode Stora assigns to a customer’s unit also grants access to the configured site gates/entrances for that site.

Testing Stora with mSpaceLock

Place a test booking through your storefront and complete a move‑in. Then visit the site with the test passcode, scan the QR code, and confirm access works as expected.
