Contract templates let you manage your own agreements without contacting Stora Support. Use them to control your contract wording and automatically send the correct agreement to new customers.

What you can do with contract templates
Upload your own contract as a DOCX, PDF or RTF file, up to 50MB.
Add fillable fields for your customer to complete and sign.
Insert variables that auto-populate customer, site and subscription details.
Assign different templates to different sites or unit types.
Set a template as the default so it's sent automatically on new subscriptions.
Before you start
Your uploaded document must:
Be a DOCX, PDF or RTF file.
Be no larger than 50 MB.
ā ļø If you do not have an existing document, select Write my own to create a contract directly in Stora.
How to create a contract template
Go to Settings in the sidebar.
Select Contract templates.
Click Create new template.
Choose Upload my document.
Drop your file into the upload area, or click to browse and select it.
Enter a name for your template (you can change it at any time).
Click Upload and continue.
Your document opens in the template editor, where you can add fields and auto-fill variables.
How to add fields and auto-fill variables
The template editor lets you add:
Fields that customers complete or sign.
Variables containing information already held in Stora.
Variables can add customer, site and agreement information to your contract.
How to add an auto-fill variable
Open Available variables.
Find the variable you need under Customer, Site or Agreement.
Click the variable to copy it. For example,
[Customer.Name].Find Text under Blocks.
Drag the text box onto the required position in your contract.
Paste the variable into the box.
The variable is replaced with the relevant information when Stora creates the customerās contract.
š” Available variables include customer contact and address details, site name and address, and agreement details such as unit type, move-in date, price and insurance cover level.
How to add a fillable field
Click the + icon to open the Content panel.
Find Fillable fields for.
Drag the required field onto your document.
Position the field where the customer should complete it.
You can add signatures, initials, text fields, dates, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdowns.
How to make a field required
Select the field in your template.
Click the Properties icon in the field toolbar.
Turn on Required.
The customer must complete a required field before they can sign the contract.
Click Done editing once your template is ready. Changes save automatically as you edit, so you can leave and return to a template at any time.
Types of fields
Text field: Collect information such as a name, email address or telephone number.
Signature: Collect the customerās signature.
Initials: Add the first letters of the signerās first and last names.
Date: Collect a date, such as the signing date or date of birth.
Checkbox: Let the customer select one or more options.
Radio buttons: Let the customer select one option from a list.
Dropdown: Let the customer select one option from a dropdown menu.
Configure a date field
Select the date field and open Properties to change its format. You can also set it to automatically use the signing date.
Add radio-button options
Select the radio-button field.
Open Properties.
Enter an option.
Click + Add option.
Repeat these steps for each additional option.
Add dropdown options
Select the dropdown field.
Open Properties.
Enter an option.
Click the + icon.
Repeat these steps for each additional option.
How to assign a template to your sites and unit types
Assign a completed template to determine which contract new customers receive.
Go to Settings in the sidebar.
Select Contract templates.
Click Assign templates.
Select the site you want to configure.
Choose a template from the site-wide dropdown to apply it to every unit type at that site.
Choose a different template beside a unit type if that unit type needs its own contract.
The selected template becomes the default for new subscriptions at that site or unit type.
š” A template assigned to a specific unit type overrides the site-wide template for that unit type.
