Overview
Teachers can favorite classes and groups they use most and hide ones they don’t need right now. This helps keep your Classes & Groups list clean and easy to navigate, especially when managing many classes or school-based groups.
⭐ Teachers often find this especially helpful during the second half of the school year, like when returning from winter break.
Before You Start ⚠️
This feature is only available to teachers at partner institutions.
✅ Partner institution teachers can favorite and hide both classes and groups
❌ Teachers with individual accounts can favorite and hide classes only.

How to Favorite a Class or Group ⭐
Favoriting pins a class or group to the top of your list so you can find it faster.
On Web
Go to the Classes & Groups tab.
Click Your Groups or your school name to expand the list.
Hover over a class or group and click the ⭐ star icon
ORClick the three dots (⋯) and select Add to favorites.
✅ The class or group appears in your Favorites section.
📌 Groups will also appear at the top of the Classes & Groups page.
On Mobile
Open the Classes & Groups tab.
Tap the three dots (⋯) next to a class or group.
Tap Add to favorites.
📌 To remove a favorite, click or tap the ⭐ icon again at any time.
How to Hide a Class or Group 👁️
Hiding removes a class or group from your main list but keeps it available if you need it later.
On Web
Go to the Classes & Groups tab.
Click Your Groups or your school name to expand the list.
Hover over a class or group and click the 👁️ eye icon and click the three dots (⋯) and select Hide this class or Hide this group.
✅ The class or group moves to the Hidden section and no longer appears in your main list.
📌 You can still message hidden classes and groups.
On Mobile
Open the Classes & Groups tab.
Tap the three dots (⋯) next to a class or group.
Tap Hide class from list or Hide group from list.
How to Unhide a Class or Group 🔁
Open the Hidden section in your Classes & Groups list.
Hover over (web) or tap the three dots (⋯) (mobile).
Click or tap the 👁️ eye icon.
The class or group will reappear in your list.
❗ If you're a teacher at a partner institution, some hidden classes or groups may reappear if you are still assigned to them based on information TalkingPoints receives from your institution.
FAQs 💬
Can families see if a class or group is favorited or hidden?
No. This only affects your view as a teacher. Think of this as a feature that helps make TalkingPoints easier to use!
Does hiding a class or group delete it?
No. Hidden classes and groups are still active and can be unhidden at any time.
Why can’t I favorite or hide groups?
This feature is only available to teachers at partner institutions. Teachers with individual accounts can manage classes, but not groups.
