When a teacher adds your phone number to their class, you are automatically subscribed to SMS text messages. However, a teacher may ask you to input their class code instead, either through the TalkingPoints Families app or via text message. Read below to learn how to enter a class code!
If you do not have the option to "Join a class", your school or district is using TalkingPoints. Please contact the school to add you to the classes you need.
By logging in to the TalkingPoints for Families app, your notifications would come in only through the app.
TalkingPoints for Families App:
Step 1: Tap the ‘Settings’ tab on the lower-right.
Step 2: For an existing student, tap their name, and then 'Join a class.' Or, if you’d like to join a class for a different student, start by tapping 'Add new student.'
Step 3: Enter the 6-digit class code. If you are adding a new student, you will also need to enter the student’s information.
If you have multiple classes to join, repeat the steps for any additional class codes!
SMS Text:
Your student's teacher will provide you with a code and unique mobile number to send an SMS text. After sending the text, you will be enrolled.
Messages will arrive from a different phone number.
