Bulk actions on students and teachers

How to select multiple students or teachers and perform actions on them all at once.

Written by Abdullah Al-Hussein

You can act on multiple students or teachers at once from the main list views, saving time on repetitive tasks.

The labels "students" and "teachers" may be renamed in your school. If you don't see the options below, ask your admin to check your permissions.

Selecting students

Go to the Students list. Tick the checkbox on any student row to select them. Tick the checkbox in the header row to select all students currently visible. Once at least one student is selected, a toolbar appears above the table with available bulk actions.

With students selected, the toolbar offers:

  • Add fee — apply the same fee to all selected students at once

  • Add note — add the same internal note to all selected students

  • Invite to portal — send a portal invitation email to all selected students

  • Enroll into class — add all selected students to a class

  • Invite to event — send an event invitation to all selected students

  • Message ▾ — send an email or SMS to all selected students

  • More ▾ — additional options including:

    • Add documents

    • Edit subject / level / custom fields

    • Substitute lesson

    • Archive (hides from active lists, keeps all data)

    • Unarchive

    • Delete (permanent — blocked if the student has payment history)

List-level actions (no selection needed)

The buttons in the top-right corner of the Students list work without selecting anyone:

  • Export — downloads an Excel file of all students matching your current filters

  • Add student — opens the new student form

  • Import people — bulk-import students from an Excel or CSV template

The Teachers list works the same way — tick rows to select, and use the toolbar. The available bulk actions are a smaller set: message, invite to portal, archive, unarchive, and delete.
