Ask AI is a question box that answers questions about your school's own data in plain language. If you want to know something about your own students, classes, schedule, attendance or money, Ask AI is the fastest way to get the answer. It is available to every school, and you'll find it on your dashboard and on the Pro page.

You can ask in your own language, and the answer comes back in the language of your question.
Ask AI answers questions about your data, not about the software. For help using Teach 'n Go, use the support chat in the bottom corner instead.
Your school may use different names for students, teachers and classes. If you don't see the menu items below, ask your admin to check your permissions.
Asking a question
Go to your dashboard and find the Ask AI box, or open Pro in the left-hand menu.
Type your question, or click one of the example questions under the box.
Press Enter.
Every answer ends with a line saying exactly what was counted, so you always know what the number means. When the answer is a list of people, the names appear as rows under the answer rather than in a sentence.
If your question is ambiguous, Ask AI asks one clarifying question before answering. You can also ask a short follow-up, such as "and last month?", and it carries on from the previous answer.
Collapsing or hiding the dashboard box
If you'd rather not see the Ask AI box on your dashboard, you have two options:
Collapse it — click the small arrow at the top-right of the box to shrink it to a slim line. It's still there, just out of the way.
Turn it off — click your name (top-right) → My account → Dashboard widgets tab, then toggle off Ask AI. This only affects your own dashboard, not anyone else's.
What you can ask
Ask AI answers from your school's own records only. It covers:
Students and contacts: headcounts, lookups, birthdays, enquiries, custom fields, and family phone numbers and emails
Schedule: what is on today or tomorrow, teacher and classroom availability, cancelled lessons, holidays, and teacher hours
Attendance: attendance rates, missed lessons, absence streaks, and missing lesson notes
Classes: class counts, rosters, how full each class is, empty classes, and classes starting soon
Money: overdue balances, revenue, payments due soon, student balances, and teacher earnings
Money questions are only available to users who can open Payments. Everyone else can still use all the other categories.
What it does not do
It never changes anything: Ask AI is read-only and cannot add, edit or delete records
It does not answer how-to questions: for help using Teach 'n Go, use the support chat in the bottom corner
It never guesses: answers use only the numbers and names in your records, and each one states what was counted
The monthly allowance
On the standard plan, your school can ask 15 answered questions per calendar month, shared across everyone at the school. Only questions that actually get an answer count: clarifying questions, and questions Ask AI cannot answer, never use up the allowance.
Teach 'n Go Pro removes the allowance, and during a free Pro trial it rises to 500 questions a month. The counter resets on the first day of each calendar month.
Your questions and answers
Your recent questions and answers are kept so you can revisit them, and are automatically deleted after 30 days. Questions you save are your own text with no answer attached, and they stay until you remove them.
