It typically takes approximately 24 hours for institutions to receive an email notification if a test taker’s scores have been canceled. You will only be notified of a score cancellation if the test taker designated your institution to obtain a score report.
If you are not receiving notification emails, check your spam folder, or ask your colleagues if they are receiving emails. It is possible you are not assigned as a recipient of score cancellation notifications.
Important Note on Test Date Restrictions
Tests Taken After April 2024: TOEFL Access displays detailed reasons for score cancellations for tests administered from April 2024 onwards.
Tests Taken Before April 2024: If the test was taken prior to this date, the reason for score cancellation will not appear in TOEFL Access. Users can contact our Office of Testing Integrity (OTI) at communicatetestsecurity@ets.org for additional information.
You can also view score status in TOEFL® Access. If a score has been canceled, the canceled status will be clearly marked. For tests taken after April 2024:
Cancellation reason is provided.
Downloadable copy of the cancellation report is available.
We do not provide a list of all the possible reasons that a score might be canceled since the list may change over time. However, some reasons why scores might be canceled are that the test taker:
Took an unauthorized or an extended break.
Accessed a cell phone during the break or during the test administration.
Did not follow the proctor's instructions.
Used or accessed study material, notes, or other prohibited aid during the test administration or during the break.
Spoke with another person during the test administration.
