Customizing Your Golf Trip Portal

Updated over 4 months ago

This article is intended for the users of the following products:

When a trip is created, a trip website will be created as well. This website can be shared with other players on the trip. This website is known as the trip “portal”. The portal is a great way to communicate trip details or among players reducing the hundreds of reply-all emails. It’s also a great place to load up itineraries for the trips, logistics information, tee sheets, tournament results, player and team points and purse, and much more.

Customizing Your Portal:

To access and customize your trip portal, go to Trip > Go to Trip Portal. The portal is organized by sections (menus). Within each section are pages. You can add, move, or remove pages and sections throughout the portal. The image below outlines the general structure of the portal.

Portal Notes:

  • Pages can be private (requiring a GGID to view) or public. Click Here for instructions on changing a page from private to public.

  • To navigate back to the Manager Site, click the gearbox on the top right, and select "Return to Manager Site" (as shown below).

For more details on customizing your portal, Click Here.

Default Pages:

By default, the following pages will already be added to your portal (Click on the links for more details):

  • Welcome: The splash (home) page of your trip portal. This is a collage page that can be edited to include text and images. Click Here for instructions on editing a collage page.

  • Itinerary: This is a collage page that can be edited to include text and images of your itinerary. Click Here for instructions on editing a collage page.

  • Players: Lists the roster of players and their information.

  • Pay Round Tee Sheet: Displays the pairings, tees, and tee times for every round.

  • Tournament Results: Displays the results to all the tournaments for every round.

  • By Player Stats: Displays detailed playing statistics for every player.

  • By Course Stats: Displays the statistics by course (e.g., avg. gross score, avg. score by hole).

  • Player Times Together: Displays how many times every player is playing with everyone else on the trip (and when).

  • Trip Photos: Displays trip photos uploaded via computer or mobile app.

  • Trip Talk: A message board for the trip participants. In order to post on Trip Talk (player message board), players must be logged in with a GGID.

Adding Additional Pages:

In addition to the default pages (above), you can also add new pages by hovering over the section where you'd like to add a new page, and click "New Page".

The following additional pages can be added (Click on the links for more details):

  • Calendar: Lists all the rounds of the trip in tabular view.

  • Customized Tournament Results: Display specific tournament results selected by the trip captain.

  • Player Trip Standings: Lists the overall player purse and points earnings.

  • Team Trip Standings: Lists the overall purse and points earnings for team-based tournaments.

  • Course Handicap by Tee: Display players Course Handicaps depending on the tees they play.

  • Mobile Presentation: Provides instructions and links to download the mobile app.

  • Text Page: Allows you to create customizable text pages using a rich text editor.

  • Collage Page: Fully customizable pages where you can add images and text throughout the page. This is a great solution for creating and highlighting an attractive itinerary (or other trip informational page).

  • Image Page: Upload a PDF or image as a portal page.

  • Custom HTML Page: Add custom HTML to create desired content for a page. For instance, this page can be used to upload videos from YouTube.

  • External Link: Add an external link that will redirect your players to a page outside of the portal. For instance, you may want to link the golf course websites to your portal.

Giving Players Access to the Portal:

When ready, you can send your players the portal link via email. To do this, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the Trip > Send Portal Information to Golfers.

  2. Enter any additional information to be included in the email being sent to your players. The portal address and Trip GGID (to log into the portal) will already be included in the email.

  3. Click "Send".

The sequence below shows the process of emailing the portal link to your players:

Keep in mind that the portal can also be accessed on the mobile app when logging in with the Trip GGID.
