Before the Event
Prior to the event, there are some key steps you can take to prepare your players.
Communicate Mobile App Instructions:
We suggest connecting your players to THIS dedicated support article, which includes links to download the mobile app from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Also, educate your golfers on using the mobile app by sharing our “Live Scoring: Player Instructions” video (seen below).
The easiest way to share the video and mobile app links with your players is via email and text message. If you plan to regularly send the video and links via email or text message, you may want to create a template for future event communication to avoid repeatedly drafting from scratch. Further, you might want to include the "instructions" video on your portal using a Custom HTML Page or External Link Page (and even add it to your Default Portal).
Send GGIDs Ahead of Time:
While foursome GGIDs are typically included on printed scorecards and other event materials, it's also a good idea to communicate the GGIDs to all participants prior to the event via email or text message. Do this by including the GGID in the body of an email or text message using dynamic fields (as shown below). Players can click the GGID in the email or text message to automatically launch the Golf Genius Mobile App and log in. One click does it all!

Game Day
It's game day, and inevitably some players haven’t downloaded the app and don't know how to use it. Don’t worry, it happens. Here are some tips to help get them quickly prepared and up to speed:
Use QR Codes for Downloading the App:
Make it easy for your players to download the app on-site by adding a scannable QR Code to your printed material (e.g., scorecards, cart signs, etc.). The QR code will direct your players to an article displaying the download links from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You can also find some nice options in Community Reports by searching "QR Code".
Provide Mobile App Instructions:
It's always a great idea to include mobile app instructions on your printed material or add a QR Code to your materials directing players to watch the instructional video. For instance, you can add basic how-to instructions to the back of your scorecards using our scorecard cover from the Report Center. Search “Scorecard Cover” from the Report Center, load your scorecards in the printer, and print the report on the back of your card (as shown below).
We hope your event participants enjoy the fun and excitement of live mobile scoring.
