My bamboo card is cracking. Is that normal?

Bamboo cards are made from real wood, so they can be affected by temperature and humidity changes over time. Minor surface changes are normal for natural materials. If your card is significantly damaged, we can help you with a replacement.

Why bamboo cards can crack

Bamboo is a natural material. Like all wood, it expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. Over time, this can cause:

• Fine surface cracks • Slight warping • Changes in colour or texture

This is a natural characteristic of the material, not a defect.

How to care for your bamboo card

Store in a wallet or card holder when not in use • Avoid extreme temperatures — do not leave it in direct sunlight, a hot car, or freezing conditions • Keep it dry — avoid submerging in water • Do not bend or flex the card repeatedly

Does cracking affect the NFC chip?

Usually not. The NFC chip is embedded inside the card and continues to work even if the surface shows wear. If your card's NFC stops working, try tapping it on a phone. If it does not respond, the chip may be damaged and you will need a replacement.

Getting a replacement

If your bamboo card is significantly damaged:

  1. Go to v1ce.co and order a new card

  2. You can reuse your previous design

  3. When the new card arrives, activate it and link it to your existing profile

Want something more durable?

If longevity is your priority, consider upgrading to a metal card. Metal cards are the most durable option and resist scratching, bending, and environmental damage.
