I've been charged twice for V1CE. What's happening?

If you see two V1CE charges on your statement, here is what each one usually is and how to get a duplicate refunded.

Written by Akshay Kumar

If you see two V1CE charges on your statement, the most common cause is per-link billing on the legacy V1CE Plus software, where each upgraded link has its own subscription. Other causes are an orphaned subscription from a deleted link or a genuine system-side duplicate. Open your Billing dashboard to see which link each charge is tied to, then cancel the duplicate or contact V1CE support for a refund.

This article is for any V1CE customer who sees more than one V1CE charge on their card statement in a single billing cycle.

Why per-link billing causes two V1CE charges

On the legacy V1CE Plus software, each link on your account has its own subscription. If you upgraded a second link without realising the first one was still on a paid subscription, you will see two V1CE charges, one for each link. This is the single most common reason customers see two V1CE charges in the same month.

Why you might see a charge for a link you deleted

If you deleted a link from your dashboard but did not cancel the subscription on that link first, the subscription can keep renewing in the background. The renewal still shows as a V1CE charge on your statement even though the link itself is gone. V1CE can refund this and cancel the orphaned subscription.

How to identify each V1CE charge

To match each charge to a link on your account:

  1. Look at the list of active subscriptions. Each row shows the link it is paying for and the renewal date.

  2. Compare the amounts and renewal dates to the two charges on your statement.

  3. If both charges match active subscriptions, both are legitimate per-link charges. If one charge does not match any subscription, it is most likely an orphan or a system duplicate.

How to cancel the duplicate subscription

If you have identified which subscription you no longer want, cancel it from the Billing dashboard. The full cancellation steps are in the How to cancel a V1CE subscription article.

How to request a refund for a duplicate charge

If the duplicate charge was unexpected (for example, an orphaned subscription or a true system duplicate), V1CE will refund it. Send V1CE support the two transaction dates and amounts. The general policy on unexpected charges and refunds is covered in I was charged but didn't expect it.

If you are on V1CE ClientCapture OS

On V1CE ClientCapture OS, duplicate charges are most often from a different cause, usually a payment retry or a system-side error. Contact V1CE support with the invoice numbers and the team will investigate.

If you are on legacy V1CE Plus, Pro, or Teams software

On the legacy V1CE Plus, Pro, or Teams software, two charges in a single cycle is almost always per-link billing. Open the Billing dashboard, match each charge to a link, and cancel any link you no longer want a subscription on.
