2-Step Verification ๐Ÿ“ฒ

Two-step verification on LinkedIn is an additional security measure requiring both a password and a second form of verification, typically a unique code sent to your mobile phone via SMS or generated by an authentication app.

Verification by SMS

  1. Once you have entered your LinkedIn credentials and LinkedIn has verified them, a pop-up will appear.

  2. You will receive a 6-digit code on your phone.

  3. Enter the 6-digit code in Settings > Cloud.

Verification by authentication app

  1. A code is generated on your Authenticator App.

  2. Validate the code.

If your 2-step verification is deactivated โœ‰๏ธ

  1. You will receive a verification code via email.

  2. Enter the 6-digit code in Settings > Cloud or directly from your home page.

Mobile App Verification ๐Ÿ””

When you try to connect to the Cloud, LinkedIn will ask you to verify your identity using your phone:

  1. From your Waalaxy account, click on โ€œVerifyโ€.

  2. You will receive a notification on your LinkedIn mobile app asking, "Are you trying to sign in to another device?"

    Choose "Yes, itโ€™s me".

๐Ÿ’ก Good to know

If you're logging into LinkedIn from a computer, LinkedIn will prompt you to check your notifications on your LinkedIn mobile app.

Connecting via "Sign in with Google"

If you sign in "via Google", you canโ€™t connect to the Cloud, as it means you don't have an existing LinkedIn password.

  1. From your Waalaxy homepage, click on โ€œGo to LinkedInโ€.

  2. From the LinkedIn page:

    • Enter your Google email address.

    • You will receive a code via email to confirm your identity.

    • Enter the code you received in your email.

  3. Once you have entered the correct code, create a new LinkedIn password.

    • Check the box "Force all other devices to sign in with the new password" to avoid login conflicts.

    • Hit the "Submit" button to confirm the new password.

  4. You will be redirected to your LinkedIn homepage with your new login details.

    • Go back to Waalaxy > Settings > Cloud and enter your LinkedIn login email and new password to connect to the Cloud. ๐Ÿš€

FAQ ๐Ÿค“

What happens if I don't want to connect to the Cloud?

You can close the Cloud connection window by clicking on the โ€œxโ€ button.

A warning banner will appear, suggesting that you reconnect to the Cloud.

By clicking on "Reconnect Cloud," a modal will pop up, prompting you to enter your LinkedIn credentials.

Once you're reconnected to the Cloud, the banner will disappear. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Is it normal for my Cloud to disconnect from time to time?

Yes, this is completely normal.

When you log in to LinkedIn, a file called a cookie is created and stored in your browser. Waalaxy uses this cookie to connect to your account ๐Ÿ—ƒ๏ธ.

Each time you take action on LinkedIn or through Waalaxy, this cookie allows LinkedIn to verify that you are logged in. However, these cookies have a limited lifespan: they expire automatically after a certain period or when you log out manually.

  • When this happens, Waalaxy attempts to reconnect using your credentials. If LinkedIn requires strong authentication (via a code or mobile notification), you will need to complete this step manually.

  • An orange banner in Waalaxy will notify you if this is necessary.

How do I manage my clients' Cloud?

When managing clients' LinkedIn accounts, frequently asking them for a six-digit confirmation code can be a hassle.
