You are able to send private messages to members of the Community (or specific Groups in the Community) by accessing 'Direct Messaging'
🔑 Setup for Success
You both must be active members of the WatersAbove™ Platform
You must not be "blocked" by the other person
The person you are message must either be your 'Friend' -or- be accepting messages from 'non-Friends'
If a Group DM, you must be a member of that group and opted-into the Group Direct Message (see details below)
✅ Step-by-Step
📱 App (iOS & Android)
Open the app
Tap your Profile Picture in the upper right hand corner
Tap 'Direct Messages' from the Menu
Tap into the Member or Group Message
💻 Web
Open app.watersabove.com
Click into PORTAL -or- ARCHIVE
Hover over the the DOCK at the bottom
Click the 'MESSAGES' Button
Click into the Member or Group Message
GROUP Direct Messages
If you're a part of a group, there is the option to participate in the Group Direct Message. This is optional. You can join and leave at any time. To do so:
Open the App (or visit app.watersabove.com
Click on PORTAL
Click on Groups
Search though 'MY-GROUPS' to find the specific Group
Click into the Group Details Page
Check ON -or- OFF 'Join Group Direct Message

📖 Glossary
Blocked—Inside PORTAL you have the ability to block another member. This will prevent that member from sending a friend requests, viewing each other's profiles or public posts. You can no longer send direct messages.
Friend—By sending a friend request and accepting friend requests, you allow those members to view your profile (if it's Private), send Direct Messages (if only allowing DMs from Friends-only), and have that member's posts appear in MY-PORTAL.
PORTAL— Personalized Social Feed based on your sign-up choices, profile settings, friends, groups / forums (including Member Map subscription). Posting here assigns the post to MY-PORTAL
ARCHIVE—A library of meeting recordings and coursework (if included in membership). Watch past sessions, revisit materials, and access saved lessons and files for reference and review.
GROUPS = Interest or location-based social groups that have an attached FORUM for discussion. Some groups are mandatory, others public or private, and be joined and left at will.
