Basic trim options may be available across plans. Advanced editor tools and AI cleanup options can depend on your plan.
Use Trim to remove unwanted parts of a clip and make the pacing cleaner before exporting or publishing.
Trim is text-based: you can work from the clip text, choose where to edit, and remove the matching video section more quickly than cutting only on the timeline.
What you can do in Trim
In Trim, you can:
Remove a selected section from the clip
Edit text for transcript or subtitle cleanup
Add supported items at a selected point, such as AI Hook, Stock B-roll, or AI B-roll
Search the clip text to find a moment faster
Review the edit in the preview and timeline
Important limit
Editing or adding text in Trim does not automatically create new spoken audio.
For example, if you type a new sentence into the text, WayinVideo does not automatically generate matching narration and insert it into the original speaker's voice. Use Trim for cutting, text cleanup, and adding supported visual or hook elements, not for creating new spoken lines inside the original audio.
Remove part of a clip
Open the clip in Video Editor.
Open Trim.
Select the words or section you want to remove.
Click Remove.
Preview the result before exporting.
This is useful for:
Mistakes
Repeated lines
Filler sections
Long pauses
Off-topic parts
Sections that make the clip feel too slow
Add a hook or B-roll from Trim
When you click a position in the Trim text, you may see Add options such as:
AI Hook
Stock B-roll
AI B-roll
Use these options to add supporting content at that moment in the clip.
AI B-roll can create related B-roll based on the video content and place it near the relevant timestamp. Stock B-roll uses available stock assets. AI Hook can help create a stronger opening or transition moment.
Edit text
Use Edit when you need to correct the text shown in the editor, transcript, or subtitles.
This can help fix:
Misspelled names
Brand names
Punctuation
Subtitle wording
Recognition mistakes
After editing text, review the clip to make sure the displayed text and timing still match the video.
Review before export
After trimming, check:
The cut starts and ends naturally
The speaker movement does not feel too abrupt
Subtitles still match the video
Added B-roll or hooks appear at the right time
The clip still has enough context
If the content is good but the timing is slightly off, adjust the clip on the timeline or trim a smaller section.
