Subtitle downloads, translation, bilingual subtitles, and some subtitle settings can depend on your plan and workspace settings.
Use subtitle downloads when you want to save your clip's subtitles as a separate file.
WayinVideo lets you export subtitles from the Video Editor in two formats:

TXT (With Timestamp) | Reviewing subtitle text with timestamps, sharing notes, or copying timestamped lines |
This article covers exporting subtitles from WayinVideo and using the exported SRT file in another tool. You do not need to import an SRT file into WayinVideo to edit subtitles in the Video Editor.
Before you download subtitles
Open the clip in Video Editor and review the subtitles first.
Check:
Subtitle text is correct
Timing matches the video
Names, brand terms, slang, and translated lines are accurate
The subtitle display is set to the version you want to download
Punctuation and emoji settings match the style you want
If you need to make changes, open Subtitles > Edit and adjust the subtitle lines before downloading.
Export subtitles as SRT or TXT
Open your clip in Video Editor.
Open Subtitles from the left toolbar.
Turn on Subtitles if they are not already enabled.
Click the settings icon in the subtitle panel.
Review the subtitle display setting.
Click Download subtitles.
Choose one of the available formats:

After the file downloads, save it somewhere easy to find on your device.
Import the SRT file into another tool
Use the downloaded SRT file when another editor or publishing platform asks you to upload a subtitle or caption file.
The exact steps depend on the tool, but the workflow is usually:
Open the video in the other editor or platform.
Find the subtitle, caption, or closed caption upload option.
Upload the SRT file downloaded from WayinVideo.
Preview the video with subtitles turned on.
Adjust subtitle timing or text in that tool if needed.
SRT is commonly used because it keeps each subtitle line connected to a timestamp.
When to use TXT instead of SRT
Choose TXT (With Timestamp) when you want a human-readable subtitle document rather than a caption file for another platform.
TXT is useful for:
Reviewing subtitle text with teammates
Copying key lines into notes or scripts
Checking timestamps while editing
Sharing a simple text reference with someone who does not need an SRT file
