The Talent Mobility Hub lets you control the fees you charge for placing your candidates. You can set a default service fee that applies to everyone, set different fees for specific occupations, or override the fee for a single candidate. This guide explains each option, where to find it, and how the platform decides which fee to apply.
Important: Your fee configuration must be complete before a candidate can be marked as Job Ready. If a fee is missing, the platform will prevent the candidate from progressing.
How fees are applied
The platform applies fees in order of how specific they are the most specific fee always wins:
Level | When it applies |
Per-candidate override | A fee set for one individual candidate |
Occupation (ANZSCO) fee | A fee set for a specific occupation code |
Default service fee | Your standard fee, used when nothing more specific is set |
If a candidate has no override and their occupation has no specific fee, the platform falls back to your default service fee.
Choosing a fee type
Fees can be set in one of two ways:
Fee type | What it means |
Flat service fee | A fixed amount in A$, charged on successful placement |
Percentage of base gross salary | A percentage of the candidate's yearly salary |
All amounts are in Australian dollars (A$) and shown GST-inclusive.
Set your default service fee
Your default fee applies to every candidate unless a more specific fee is in place. This is set under Configure your fee, which controls how you charge employers for successful placements.
Scroll to the Occupation-specific fees section on the Fee Settings page, then:
Under Add occupation fee, search for and select the ANZSCO occupation.
Choose the fee type — Flat Fee or Percentage.
Enter the flat fee amount (A$) or the percentage.
Select Add occupation fee.
Use the Earnings Preview on the right of the page to see how your fee translates into a real payout. It shows your service fee, subtracts the fixed platform fee, and displays the net amount you’d receive on an example salary.
Important: The Your Agreement with TMH Platform panel shows your percentage of the success fee, the fixed fee per hire, and the applied rate. Where the applied rate is “Whichever is higher”, the platform charges the greater of your percentage fee or the fixed fee.
Override the fee for a single candidate
You can set a custom fee for one candidate when it differs from your default or occupation fee. This is the most specific fee and takes priority over everything else.
1. From the left-hand menu, select Candidates.
2. Find the candidate, then select the three dots in the Action column on the right.
3. Select Override fee from the menu.
4. In the Override fee window, review the current fee and the candidate’s occupation (this shows No Occupation Set if none is assigned).
5. Choose the service type Flat service fee or Percentage of base gross salary.
6. Enter the new fee amount or percentage.
7. Select Save changes.
This fee now applies to that candidate only, overriding both your occupation fees and your default fee.
Best practice tips
Set your default fee first.
Configure your default service fee before adding occupation fees or overrides, so every candidate always has a fee to fall back on.
Use occupation fees for consistency.
If you charge the same fee for a particular occupation, set it at the ANZSCO level rather than overriding each candidate one by one.
Only override when it’s a genuine exception.
Per-candidate overrides are best kept for one-off cases, not as your everyday approach.
Check the Earnings Preview.
Use the preview on the Fee Settings page to sense-check what you’ll actually receive after the platform fee, before you save.
Confirm fees before marking Job Ready.
The platform blocks Job Ready status if a fee isn’t set, so check your configuration before progressing a candidate.
Troubleshooting
I cannot mark a candidate as Job Ready.
A fee must be configured first. Check the candidate’s override, their occupation fee, and your default service fee to confirm at least one applies.
The fee showing for a candidate isn’t what I expected.
Fees apply most-specific-first: a per-candidate override beats an occupation fee, which beats your default. Check whether an override or occupation fee is taking priority.
I cannot find the Override fee option.
Open the Candidates list, find the candidate, and select the three dots in the Action column. If you don’t see it, check your access permissions, then contact support.
I cannot edit my partner profile details.
Partner profile details are locked after onboarding to prevent unauthorised changes. If something locked needs updating, contact your Customer Success Manager.
